I stayed at the Paducah Drury Pear Tree Inn on Monday night, Oct 17. The more Drury Inns I stay at, the more impressed I am with the chain. I was taking a long solo driving trip, and needed a cheap, decent place to stay for the night. I have had difficulty in the past finding such a place on this route. For the same price I paid at this hotel, I have stayed in some real dumps! However, this was not one of them. I called another Drury Inn in Paducah, but they only had one room left, and it was pretty expensive. They then connected me to the Pear Tree Inn. I told the woman that I wanted the cheapest room they had available, which happened to a room with a king sized bed. She asked me where I was on the road, and since I was close, she told me that she would leave the reservation up on the screen until I arrived. When I got there, my reservation was ready, and she checked me in quickly and courteously. What great service!
The room was sizable, clean and quiet. Even though the hotel was right off the Interstate, I was not bothered by road noise at all. My room even faced the Interstate! The bathroom was fairly large, and the sink was in the same room as the toilet and shower, which I like. The bed was very comfortable, and I found a pillow that was just right for me among a large selection of pillows on the bed. Best of all, they didn't blink an eye when I told them I had my dog with me. They are very pet-friendly, and don't charge extra for pets.
I ate breakfast the following morning. Although they didn't provide the full breakfast, they did offer a variety of cereals, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit, as well as hot coffee. It was just right for me!
I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone. I spent a comfortable night with my trusty dog. I have stayed in a few other Drury hotels, and have found them to be just as comfortable, clean, convenient and welcoming. This one ranks right up there. I have it saved on my Garmin, and will definitely stay there again on my way through.
