i have worked at this hotel for an extended period and have seen the ''behind the scenes'' operation. the owner is so cheap, his focus is cutting cost! i have SEEN dirty towels handed out, bc we had no clean or extra ones. yea, gross. there is nothing extra special about this hotel other than the renovation. there is nothng to do for kids, and when ppl pay the high cost, they are only paying for the brand name and mock my words, dirty towels. top it off, the owner is mean to his employees.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express Owensboro, KY. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Also the rooms were very clean and quiet. The front desk staff was very gracious and caring with us and our children. I will definately be coming back to the hotel the next time I am in Owensboro, KY.

We had two rooms reserved, the front desk clerk figured out who we were as we walked in the door, she was great.

The rooms, although adjacent, had two totally separate sets of experiences. One was quiet as could be, mine, on the other hand, had a bathroom that made amazingly annoying noises any time anyone in the place ran water, whether from a sink, shower or toilet flush. What can I say. And a generic complaint, for all inns -- I'm tall, and the way the sheets are tightly fitted at the foot of the bed leaves me with no comfortable way to stretch out to sleep -- leave a guy a little room for the tootsies, please!

Other than that, the WiFi worked, there were microwaves and refrigerators, the air conditioning was on and cooling when we arrived, and there were coffee pots, basically on the floor in the nightstand. Why? Specific shortfalls -- the electric outlet in the bathroom had basically worn out, and wouldn't hold the plug in while I shaved. And although the room appeared to be clean -- a close inspection showed a ribbon of dust all around the wall where the sweeper apparently didn't quite get to the baseboard. Tacky looking <g>.

Breakfast, by the way, was a varied spread with carbs, proteins and fruit. The decaf ran out early, as did the water for tea.

In all, I'd like another shot at the place to see if I didn't jest get a fluke of a room.

We came in 2 weeks ago in the middle of July for our grandsons baseball tournament. It was scorching hot but the front desk gave us bottles of water for free which was nice. The hotel was very clean and the front desk staff we extremely helpful at giving us advice on where to eat and things to do when we werent at the ballpark. Overall we had a great stay. The team loved it and we will definitely be back next year!
