“It served its purpose.”

We went down to Cincinnati for a Bengals football game the next day. We spent almost no time in the room, only to shower and sleep. We were on a budget and also wanted a room that was convenient to entertainment. This is the place for both! The carpet is old with mystery stains and the bed wasn't the best, but the bathroom was newly updated and clean. It was within walking distance to the levy and all the activities there (dining, shopping, drinks, movie theater, etc). It was a very short drive over to the game. For $5 extra we could have walked to the stadium and left our car in the hotel lot. The only reason we did not was there was a chance of rain and we didn't want to be stuck walking back in it.

“Bedbugs!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Room offered teabags as well as coffee, minifridge & microwave, but few outlets to plug in laptop, and very slow connection compared to DSL at home. Had cigarette burns in carpet near bed. Found a bedbug, so changed rooms. Found two more bedbugs in new room. Packed and left.
To be fair, another family member also stayed there the same night, down the hall. He saw no bedbugs in his room.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

“Not the best place in the world but Linda is a doll!”

A friend and I drove from New York to the Travelodge to see a Paul McCartney concert which was amazing, by the way. Needless to say it was an incredibly long drive and when we got to the hotel at roughly 4 am all we wanted was our room and some sleep. There must have been a mixup because the room we were initally sent to looked like it belonged in the aftermath of the Syrian bombings. But the woman at the front desk, Linda, was incredibly apolgetic and such a sweetheart. She sent us to another room that was clean and very nice. However, that next morning we received a call from another front desk woman who wasn't as nice as Linda. She wanted us to switch rooms because apparently someone else had requested the Honeymoon Suite. So we did with little argument. How we wish we didn't. When we got to our other room there was blood (we think) on the bathroom wall, bottle caps on our bed, and a losing lottery ticket underneath the bed. If the ticket was a winner I think my friend and I would've been OK with the room switch. But for the price and location it's not the worst place in history. Maybe just slightly ahead of the room in "Saw."

We checked by tearing down the bed and under the matress...curtains , base , etc. A short while later a "Grandpa" was crawling across the floor. We left at 2:30 am , fortunately we'd not unpacked yet. Jeff & Dawn

“Location about the only REAL asset here. Don't bother.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

My wife and I stayed here for a short vacation. If you're young and don't plan to spend any time here outside of sleeping, this would be fine. Price and location were my driving points to select here. Wished I had chosen a more expensive place; it would've been worth it. The only nice feature is the location which was nice. We walked to Newport Riverplace, HofBrauHaus, and to GABP to see a Reds game; bridge ends right at hotel. But the money you save on parking and gas could go towards a nicer hotel and ends up being worth it because you don't want to think about the cleanliness and the smell issues amongst others.
It's not a good thing when your hotel reminds you of your freshman dorm and this certainly did, right from the start. Whole hotel smells like smoke, big time. The room was a basic quarters, nothing special. Smelled like smoke and it was a N/S room. Blood stain on wall. Burn holes in carpet and blanket. Mattress was basic, old, and not comfortable. Bathroom was basic with shower stall and fairly clean but the entire room looked like it needed a remodel and to be CLEANED! We checked for bedbugs and found none and no roaches. But I took some time and cleaned every touchable surface with Lysol and a Febreze-type spray and the room smelled tolerable after that. We also brought our own bedsheets and pillows.
Elevator worked some of the time and felt a little unsafe. Cont. BF was just bread, doughnuts, cereal, coffee, fruit - nothing special. All in all, we basically got 2 nights here for 1 night at a nicer hotel. It was tolerable and ok and the location was the only NICE thing. But if I had to do it over, I would've picked a nicer hotel and spent the extra $$. Your peace of mind will be better and you'll enjoy yourselves more.
