“An OK Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Clean, comfy bed & super clean bathroom. Nice decor, friendly staff. Skip the hot breakfast- bad egg "crumbs," rubbery smoked sausage slices. If you like cereal & yogurt, you'll be okay. In addition, the food area was the only dirty area I saw in the entire hotel. (Trash can sits next to the toaster, food bits encrusted on the handles of the milk dispenser.)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on third floor. Whoever built the hotel seemingly forgot to insulate the water pipes...

“We stay there a lot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We go through that way a lot on business. We have stayed at the Hampton Inn at Maysville many times over the past six years. It is always clean and neat. We often travel with horses and dogs, and the clerks are always happy to help me get water for our animals. If you have a large horse trailer or other large vehicle, you can always park at the Tractor Supply next door. The lots are very well-lit and the neighborhood is very safe. There are many restaurants and a Kroger and JC Penney store near-by, so if you need something, you can get it. Be aware that you should try to call ahead for a room. They are usually very busy, especially in the summer because they are minutes from the Ohio River.

Room Tip: Be sure to call ahead to reserve your room. They are always busy.

“Would stay here again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

We were in the area for 1 night for a family function. Our room was very clean and was fine. Furnishing appeared fairly new, including TV. Breakfast area was good- clean, well stocked, plenty of seating, attentive service.

The only disapointment we had, was no abiity for late check out - as our family function was not until 4pm and checkout was at 12pm - there is not a lot of places to just hang out in Maysville on a Sunday - another hour at the hotel would have been helpful. Or if they would have offered to let us hang out in their restaurant or something would have been nice, as I explained the situation to the front desk at our reservation, at check-in and in the morning of check-out.

“Nice, clean Hampton Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

This is a nice, clean Hampton Inn, about six or seven years old. It is in a large parking lot that has a Kroger and is near a Wal-Mart. A Tumbleweed restaurant is right next door. Not my favorite place, but the food is okay and you can grab a drink and an appetizer if you wish.

The breakfast was of good quality. The little one-egg western omelets actually had some taste to them!

I will note some negatives. They didn't spoil my stay, but just thought I would point them out.

I was given some type of assessable room which had a large bathroom and smaller bedroom. I didn't like this, and should have been warned and offered the chance for a refund. My room had an older tube TV of no great size. It's time to upgrade! The maid forgot to leave bath soap, although the facial soap was available. The shampoo looked like a small amount had been used out of it by the previous guest and the maid had decided not to throw it away, but I'm not sure about this.

The hotel expanded with a new wing about four years ago, and as a result the breakfast room isn't big enough to serve all the guests. It would help if they would have some tables for two, as all the tables are for four. So a single person takes up four seats.

These problems were minor to me, just an irritation. But I did want to point them out. That's why I gave four instead of five stars.
