My husband and I actually stayed at the French Quarter Inn when we were passing through to go to another hotel. We only stayed one night, but I wish that we had booked our stay for our whole vacation there. We had a room with a view of the water, and really loved it, it's very pretty at night w/the lights coming off of the bridge onto the water. The staff was wonderfull from the minute we walked in. My hubby mentioned that he had just come back from Ft. Lewis, and they made sure to give us the military discount (I always forget to ask.) I loved the restaurant (Tippedores), it was very nicely decorated and the big french doors looked out onto the water, and the food was very good (we were there on a Monday morning, and there wasn't a big crowd, but they had a buffet w/plenty of hot, fresh food, and they told us more than once to let them know if we wanted anything special.) Our room was clean, nicely decorated (I didn't feel like I was in just another Holiday Inn or something) w/a HUGE jacuzzi tub. We did see the dogs when we were in the lobby one time, they were small and didn't bother us at all, even though we aren't animal people, I thought they added to the charm of the place, and it didn't affect the cleanliness of the hotel at all, everything that I saw was very clean. My husband surprised me by how much he liked the place, (it takes a lot to impress him sometimes), and he's even mentioned it recently -even though we went months ago- that he wants to go back there on our next vaca. The staff really made us feel special, like they were glad we were there, and wanted us to come back. We were there on a Sunday night/Monday morning and we didn't get to really enjoy a lot of Maysville because we were just passing through, and things were mostly closed, but the hotel was well worth going for by itself. I did read the reviews before we went, I saw that out of the dozens of good reviews, there were a couple of bad, I thought I'd take a chance because we would only be there one night, and I'm so glad that we did, because we had a very different experience than they did.
