To start with a negative: There was a loud banging noise heard in my room the entire time. Not a construction noise, but a constant banging. So bad that I wore earplugs the entire time in my room as I did not want a headache. If you have oil heat, almost like when the heat comes up, but constant. Whatever it was, it was beyond annoying, and made the stay less that pleasurable.
Other than that:
*LOCATION is excellent. You can walk to most downtown Louisville sights and it has easy access to I-65
*ROOM is recently renovated with comfy furnishings, giant flat-screen and fast PAY wi-fi. However, one of the lamps in my room was faulty. Room was very clean and bed is comfy. Room is also pretty big. Nice view from 12th floor of the building with lighouse at top and if you bend your head properly, the river.
*STAFF are very friendly and eager to help with directions. But front desk was often quite busy and it took a while for extra staff for to come out.
*PARKING is in a giant garage that is shared with the Marriott & Convention Center. It's $13 with in and out and $10 for overnight only. Not bad considering I'm used to DC and NY prices.
*It's a Hyatt so the extra's add up. Wi-fi $7, parking $13, etc.
Would I return? Possibly. That continuous banging noise, not from construction, really drove me nuts. I hate wearing earplugs non-stop.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel based on your recent stay. I regret your overall experience did not exceed your expectations, which is what we strive to achieve at Hyatt Hotels. I have shared your comments regarding the banging with noise with our Engineering Department in an effort to minimize the impact on other guests. With regards to the appearance of the hotel, we continue our $5.8 million renovation of the hotel’s main entrance, lobby, front desk, and brand new restaurant and lounge, Sway (short for Southern Way), which will be complete mid-April 2012. I hope you will choose to stay with us again the next time you visit Louisville, and allow us another opportunity to show you the true Hyatt touch.
