It is an older motel. The hallway had a strong smell of smoke. The room was a non-smoking room and it did not smell of smoke. The room was clean but the bed was hard and lumpy. The A/C unit was the old type and sounded like a jet engine. We did not enjoy the one night we stayed there. This may be totally unrelated, I hadn't used my credit card in over 3 weeks but the day after checking out my credit card number was used at a restaurant in Texas, the credit card company is investigating.

This hotel was in a great location near a lot of restaurants. Close to the city and right off the interstate but hotel was really quiet. We stayed here a whole week and never heard our next door neighbors. Always really quiet in the room and hallway. HIGHLY recommend !!

My boyfriend & I stopped in Lexington for just 1 night en route from Myrtle Beach to Wisconsin. We really didn't expect much from this hotel (after all, it was just a chain hotel), but we were pleasantly surprised. Although the rooms had a certain "odor" to them, and the A/C was quite noisy at night, we were incredibly impressed with the service at the front desk (I believe his name was John). Upon arrival, I asked him if he had any suggestions as to places we could go or something fun to do. Enthusiastically, he suggested that we head downtown for some drinks & shopping. He then proceeded to print us out a MapQuest map so that we knew how to get there, and suggested certain places to hang out. We took his advice and had a wonderful evening in Lexington (which we didn't expect since it was just a quick stop!). Thanks John! As for location, it was nearly perfect. We were right in town (close to restaurants, etc.) and close enough to downtown! (& just so you all know, we ate at Cheapside Bar/Grill & it was DELICIOUS. We shared the Nacho Pizza and MMM. Plus it was N*Sync/Backstreet Boys night, so all the better!)

This hotel has to have seen better days. We arrived after midnight on Friday because we could not find anywhere else to say. I guess beggars can't be choosers. This hotel was clean, but old and in need of updating. It did seem mostly secure also which is very important to me. The front desk clerk was extremely nice and accomodating. This hotel will meet your basic needs but not much else. It's fine for one night but I would never consider staying longer than that.
