I travel to Lexington weekly and have stayed at many hotels there. Love this town and it's hospitality. Decided to try Campbell House again as it had been 6 years and heard, despite the community thinking it was "dead", that it really had made great strides recently as it came out of Chapter 11. Man am I hooked.... From the incredible front office staff, Mandy and Keenan are a blast and so helpful, to Jason Wathen, Food and Beverage Director, these folks cannot do enough for you. The rooms are so "much like home"! Warm, cozy and spacious with beautiful new big flat screens and completely remodeled bathrooms. They even provide "turn down service"!!! Now this is goin back to the old days and if you want to get the feel of what the Glory Days of the Horse Industry are stay here. It is steeped in tradition. From the comfy breezy beautiful front porch area to enter the historic lobby to the decor throughout the facility you will feel like a Horse Baron. The Food at Kilban's is true Southern Charm Gourmet with everything from Hot Browns to Fresh Rainbow Trout and Delicious Filets of Beef. I was on a special diet last two times and the chef was happy to accomodate my every need! The atmosphere at Bogarts will provide even the weariest of road warriortravelers a comforting way to end the day! The employees like Mandy and Jason are long timers with tremendous knowledge of the place's hostory. STAY HERE! Best bargain in town with 287 rooms they are seldom booked at this point....Oh by the way, ever slept on a Tempur Pedic mattress? That is all they have....what an investment that must have been! They are amazing!!!!!!
