“Very nice and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

In looking for a new place to take our yearly visits with the 11 person family, we started with KY Dam Village and Marina. The cottages at the village are great. We got 2 next to each other (said they would try but couldn't promise) and it worked perfect. There were a few ants in one of the cottages, but the staff was quick to come out and spray...and they were gone. I wish I would have read these reviews first because we were in search of some good food in the area!

P.S....
Although this isn't a review for the marina, the 2 would be an excellent combination. However, the manager, Marty, at the marina is terrible. Sue and Cameron are awesome, so if you only have to deal with them, you will find your experience a good one. Unfortunately, because of him, we will be looking for another cottage/marina combo.

Steve C. -- Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your stay with us at Kentucky Dam Village. We are constantly looking for an honest assessment of how we are treating our guests. Glad you enjoyed your lodging options.
Sorry to hear about you searching for a restaurant and not finding Harbor Lights Restaurant here at the Park. We are attempting to make sure all of our guests are aware of the great quality food available here at KDV. Many times we are not the best at letting know folks about our "hidden" gem! However, we are working on it...
I will be sharing your comments regarding your experiences at our Marina. I've very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time with us. We will certainly be addressing the situation.
Again, Thanks for your time. Despite some of your "bumps" I hope you will give us a chance and visit again.
Until then...

“Price makes it worth it”

My parents, my wife, and I stayed the evening of 11/18 as we were in town for a convention. We stayed at Village Green. The State park is nice. Our room was 173 and was dated. If you don't mind the room being older, it was nice and very clean. $53 per night was well worth the value. The only real complaint is the TV in that room needs to be replaced. It has a dull spot in the top left corner of the screen, but we did not say anything about it. Both of our key cards somehow got demagnatized, but the front desk quickly helped with that. My parents were in another room and could not figure out how to turn on the TV with the remote and the desk was quickly able to help. They have a full service restaurant which overlooks the lake. We did not eat a full meal so we cannot comment on the food. My wife and I did order cheese sticks as we wanted a snack, which was a LONG wait. Probably a good 20 minutes to get cheese sticks, but the view from the restaurant is awesome. Get a seat by the window. All in all, if I were passing through and wanted a good, cheap place to stay, I would certainly stop here.

TNstrouds -- Thanks for taking time to let us know your experience here at Kentucky Dam Village.
It is great you were able to stay in our smaller Village Green Lodge. Rest assurd our Maintenance staff will be attending to the TV in your room so as to fix it for the next individual who stays with us. Also, I will be sharing your experience visiting Harbor Lights Restaurant and will be addressing the situtation and delay in service. However, it is great to hear the rest of your stay was worth stating... " I would certainly stop here." We enjoy hearing from everyone who stays with us. It gives us a chance to address all the needs of our guests.
Again Thank you for your kind words.

“Just to eat at there restaurant was amazing and a reasonable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011 via mobile

Most people don't know there is a resturant down stairs of the lobby. That is not only for guest but open to the public. There open from 7am - 8pm. The food was good and reasonabley priced. The server was great she had a smile on her face and was very sweet. I laughed when she told us " I like everyone to leave full and floating" and that we did. If you have never been I think you should give them a try you will want to come back :-)

Just-a-lil_birdy --- Thank you so much for your review of our Harbor Lights Restaurant! Of course we agree we have a "gem" here. Often it is overlooked by folks visiting the area. It was kind of you to mention our server's demeanor. We pride ourselves with attempting to provide a quality experience... and as your pictures show... we've got one of the best views of Kentucky Lake any where! I will be sharing your wonderful comments with our staff during our next meeting and highlighting the positive experience.
Hope you return for another visit!

“Wonderful!”

Spent 5 nights here. It is wonderful! All of the employees, both desk and housekeeping, were friendly and helpful. Had a couple problems with the heat in my room, it was handled within 20 minutes. Restaurant on premises is great. The park surroundings were very peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely be going back.

Craftylady62249 -- Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your kind reveiw regarding your current stay at Kentucky Dam Village. It is great to hear from someone who enjoyed their stay in one of our wonderful cottages. We feel sometimes a stay in a cottage here at Kentucky Dam is one of our "hidden wonders" for which others would enjoy. I will certainly pass on your comments to our hard working staff and share your feedback.
Hope to have you visit again.

“Nice place to stay.”

The staff was very nice and room clean. It was as nice as other hotels we have stayed lately, but cost less. All rooms listed as second floor are actually on the street level. These rooms also have balconies that face the lake. Nice bonus is that the price was also less than other hotels in the areas. Another bonus was the restaurant; very good food.. We have found all the Kentucky State parks to be nice. Wish I could say the same for Ohio's state park lodge restaurants; but I can't.

It is great to year you found us clean and enjoyed the view of the Lake. We have put alot of effort recently into our restaurant and feel we are a "hidden gem" for folks. It is great for your confirmation of this fact. I will be sharing your kind words with our staff in the Restaurant to show them how their work has "payed off." We hope to see you again here at KDV in the near future.
