During our October, 2010 stay, the motel was being renovated with no inconvenience to guests. When completed, the upgrades will make this a nice place to stay.
The front desk was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Our room was clean with a nice shower. Included in the room is a lounge chair and work desk with an adjustable chair. One downside was the mattress which we felt was hard and uncomfortable. We did have problems with internet hookup, but the front desk rebooted their router and everything worked fine after that. The front desk person mentioned that some sections of the motel did not receive wireless internet very good so if you plan to use this service, it may be wise to discuss this when checking in to improve your chances of getting a room with working internet.
The included "free" breakfast had a reasonable choice of food items. Unlike some motels, the breakfast area had many tables (inside and outside). In addition, there were lounge chairs and a counter area with computer hookup. Complimentary USA and Wall Street Journal papers were available in the breakfast area.
There are only two eating establishments in the immediate area, a new Dairy Queen and a Cattlemen's Roadhouse. We recommend Cattlemen's for excellent steak at a reasonable price (other menu items are available).

The regular rooms lack a microwave and fridge which then requires you to go out to eat frequently. There is only one treadmill and a bike so you have to wait for one to finish. There are 3 floors so if you stay in the lower floors you can hear everything above you in addition to beside you...people opening dressers, opening doors, walking in room, talking, ect. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, it's the loudest I've stayed in.

We booked this suite weeks ahead to go to the 127 Longest Yard Sale. Originally, my sister was going to stay on the sleeper couch, but it is a good thing she decided not to. The suite had a TINY extra room with an odd shape. If the couch was pulled out, the occupants of the king bed would have had to practically climb over it to get to the bathroom. The toilet made a high screeching noise when flushed, so I called downstairs to guest services to either come fix it or let me borrow a screwdriver to fix it. They called back and said they couldn't find a scredriver. Also, I wanted some foam pillows instead of the down ones in the room which I am allergic to. The guy at guest services said the door was locked to the room with the foam pillows, so I couldn't get one.

This Fairfield is only six years old. The desk clerk was overwhelmed as he was by himself and there were at least three other people checking in when we did and he was on the phone with someone trying to make a reservation. I must say I don't get why a good Manager would leave ONE staff person at such a busy time of day, but I guess it all has to do with money. The outside of the hotel is well kept and our room was also very clean. The layout of the room was actually pretty neat with the bedroom separated by a short wall, but with two TV's, (always a plus). However we were quite surprised to see just a mattress sitting on top of a wooden box. I have since been told by the hotel that that is an approved method of "furniture" by Marrott. We're still not too sure if we would stay at this hotel again.
