“Disgusting, schedule this place for demolition”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

Stayed here enroute to Southern state. Checked in around 2 am. Door to room was ajar. Having 2 small children, I allowed my husband to check out room with his flashlight. All appeared in order. Realized the door was blown open by the freeway traffic / wind. The door rattled all night long. I slept with one eye open and one foot against the door. We should have continued just a few more exist on I-75 to find a hotel I could actually get some rest in. In the morning, noticed most of the rooms had padlocks on the outside and many tagged "Employees Only"

“ABSOLUTELY DISGUISTING”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

we should have turned right around right after seeing the refund sign within 20 minutes. we walked in and our non smoking room smelled like cigarettes. the sheets were
old and worn, there were holes in the bathtub, toilet, ceiling, carpet, etc. we turned right around after not being able to stomach it. I really didn't want to bring bed bugs back home with us! we slept in our car.

We are an older hotel that does needs some updating of carpets and furniture but we do provide clean rooms at a value price. If your non-smoking room smelled of smoke we would have gladly found you a room that would have met your expectation. We apoligze for your experience and wish you had given us more of an opportunity to satisfy your needs.

“Got scabies”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

Stayed one night due to emergency situation at ground floor room near the pool, room smelled bad and linen was worn out. Some weeks later discovered that we had scabies.

Scabies are mites that move from skin to skin. Generally that's how you get scabies - from someone who already has them. Though not impossible to get them from a towel or linen its very unlikely as they die very quickly when not in human contact. This is the first we have heard of this and have not had anyone else report such. Though we are an older budget hotel which definitely is not perfect, our staff works hard to provide clean accommodations to every guest.

“Only hotel I've ever walked away from”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

We've had good luck with Days Inn hotels before, but traveling with another couple we were 0 for 2 in the degree to which this hotel matched our expectations and lived up to its pictures. Our friends had reserved a non-smoking room but were assigned a smoking room. We reserved and were assigned to a non-smoking room, but it reeked with smoke. The 3 rooms we passed on the way to it were locked with padlocks: that did not inspire confidence. The breakfast area looks large and appealing in the online photos. It's actually a crowded corner in the tiny area shared by the reception desk: room for maybe half a dozen people to stand. We were so thankful that the Rodeway Inn next door still had two rooms available, and we were glad to pay $20 more for a much better room. When we reserved our two rooms, the couple in front of us who took the 3rd-to-last room available was also fleeing the Days Inn. One good thing to say about the Days Inn, the clerk at the reception desk was very kind about canceling our reservations. Unfortunately she didn't even have a working printer on which to print a cancellation confirmation. I have a high tolerance for spartan conditions when I'm just looking for an overnight bed. But this hotel was so inexcusably far down the quality scale it prompted me to walk away from a reservation for the first time in my life and now to write the first hotel review I've ever written in my life. If you're stopping in Cincinnati, I recommend staying anywhere else.

We apologize for our inability to properly accommodate you and the couple that was traveling with you. The date you traveled was during the Macy Music Festival, which unfortunately is logistically difficult for us and other local hotels. We rarely have any problem with providing clean smelling non-smoking rooms as our staff strives to provide every guest with a clean, comfortable, and affordable stay. I do appreciate the kind comments about our staff.

“Beyond DIRTY, Pure Filth”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2010

This is the worst place I have ever seen. The Health department need to be called in and close this rat trap. We did not stay. The front desk was a shambles. Carpet dirty. Man behind the desk was unkempt. I looked at the room. Smell bad. Carpet dirty. Gave you a bad feeling without walking into the room. NASTY, NASTY

We walked accross the street to the ROADWAY INN. Clean, Quiet, Plesant . Beds were great. Would like to take it home. The price is fantastic. Not much on the Breakfeast but with all the nice things , I can forgo the the light Breakfeast. Would I go back ? YES, YES, YES
