“Eh....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011 via mobile

We stayed at this hotel for free thanks to our rewards program. Nothing special, clean room, clean bathroom. We didn't really like the snarky comments about two men wanting to share a king sized bed. But then again it was free and the rewards program will hear about it. Probably won't ever stay here again, unless its free. No breakfast and only one ice machine for the entire hotel.

Thanks for posting on trip advisor. We appreciate you taking the time. As to one point we do have a breakfast in the lobby but do not have a seating area. As you said we are an older hotel but our staff works hard to provide excellent service and clean rooms. Again thanks for taking time to post.

“Older motel, definitely in need of renovation, but nowhere as bad as some here say it is.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

I prefer to stay at Day's Inn when I travel, and have seldom been disappointed. This time I was using my Wyndham Rewards points, so I guess it didn't cost me anything to stay. For the advertised price of $45 per night, I would have had some issues. As it was, (1) the security chain fell off the wall mount - a chair propped against the door handle was our security; (2) the radio didn't work; (3) no shampoo; (4) hide-away places not properly cleaned or even vacuumed (behind the end table looked like it had not been touched in weeks); and (5) the "Day Break" breakfast is the smallest I've ever seen in a Day's Inn -- though the coffee was fresh and hot.

I won't say the place was any of the negative comments others have left, but if I had actually PAID $45 I would be VERY disappointed. This motel does NOT live up to what I'm used to at Day's Inn. Some people are simply too picky, and should not expect five-star motels for a one star price. In addition, there are some people who can not be pleased, no matter what. On the up side, the bed was very comfortable, and I did sleep well.

We arrived around noon, and didn't expect a room to be ready for check-in at that time; the gal on the registration desk was great -- said that we could check in later -- around midnight or even later was our plan, as we were going to a night baseball game, then out to eat. When we got back to the motel the older gal at the desk was less hospitable, and for a few minutes I didn't think she was going to check us in at all.

Renovation will certainly help, as (aside from the traffic on I-71-75, request a room on the WEST side of the motel) the motel is VERY convenient for travel into Covington, Newport, and Cincinnati. I'd also suggest turning the guest room nearest the registration into an actual lobby -- there is not room for 3 people in the present "lobby" at one time.

Room Tip: If you're very picky find another motel. Stay on the west side as the motel is VERY close to a...

This reviewer was fair in assessment of our hotel. As the reviewer stated we are in need of renovations and as such we are priced below market. We do work hard to provide clean comfortable lodging and our front desk staff strives to help guest any way they can. Our locations is close to downtown Cincinnati, the Zoo, stadiums, and more.

“Don't stay here!! Roach motel!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

While on the way from Michigan to South Carolina in a rented moving truck, I was lured into this roach motel by the $44.95 price flashing on the side of I-75. Since we were on a budget and it was late at night, I decided to give it a try. Bad mistake! This place is without a doubt, the filthiest, most run down motel I have ever seen in my life. The first warning sign was the lack of a lobby, just a sign that said registration above a room in the corner of the ground floor. We were sent up to the third floor on a creeky elevator and had to walk past numerous gutted rooms and padlocked doors to reach our "non-smoking" room that reeked of stale tobacco smell. The mattress on the bed was caved in, and the chairs looked like they had been chewed on by a dog. The suspended ceiling was sagging and stained, and the phone did not work. There were a grand total of 2 towels in the room. A clean one on the shelf, and a dirty one hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Since it was late, my wife and I decided to turn out the lights and go to sleep, but unfortunately, we couldn't turn off the smell. We decided to pass on the "breakfast" in the lobby, and were out of there at first light. My mother-in-law made a wise choice to sleep in the car with her cats! I am shocked that Days Inn allows their name on this dump. It needs to be bulldozed, not renovated.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!!

We understand that we are an older hotel and we are scheduled to begin renovations including most of the items you mentioned in your review. We will be replacing our worn out carpets and mattresses plus replacing furniture and remodeling bathrooms. As to the issue with towel hanging on the bathroom door, this was a mistake we made and is totally un-called for. Our staff works hard to provide clean rooms and our lower price is due to our need for renovations. We may be an older hotel but our staff will do what everything possible to satisfy the guest.

“BATES MOTEL!!! DON'T GO THERE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

Wow, I should have looked on-line at the reviews instead of being directed to this Motel by Hotel.com and seeing that it is in the Wyndham Resorts group that I am in! What a bad mistake on my part!!! It was nasty, dirty, and the carpet had stains and was torn! Our toilet didn't flush and when we called Management, they moved us to another room that had no pillow cases on the pillows! When we called the office again, they told us to come down and get the pillow cases! We couldn't get a iron to iron our clothes because they had all be checked out and never returned!!! I can't believe that this is a Days Inn Motel........ THE ONLY THING ABOUT THIS MOTEL BEING A DAYS INN IS THE MISLEADING SIGN!!!!

Room Tip: Stay away from this Motel in Fort Wright!!!!

Obviously we did not meet the expectations of this guest. We understand the carpets are worn and many stained and have plans to replace them as well as other rennovations. We did offer after the first night to help relocate the guest but due to this having been the weekend of Macy Music Festival any available rooms in town were nearly double our rates. Also in regards to irons we stock extras for this event but unfortunately other guest did not return them for the use of others.

“Run away quickly!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011 via mobile

When we arrived to check in we really just didn't wanna get outta the car. We decided to be fair and atleast look at the room. After having 2 different clerks tell us over the phone that we could check in early for no extra fee we decided to drive over night and check in in the early morning. When we arrived the night auditor was extremely hateful and said she wasn't letting us into the room until check in time. I told her that we were told we could and all she said was "like I said... No checking in eay unless you pay an extra night". We drove away, found the Clarion in Florence and were very happy with the rest of our trip. Way to go Days Inn... Ugh.

Obviously our employees failed to comunicate. We have since had a meeting with our staff to discuss how to properly handle these issues. Unfortunately this guest arrived on our midnite shift and we do not offer early check prior to 9am based on rooms available.
