Great location with gorgeous views from the rooms -- right on the river facing Cincinnati. Gorgeous bar and restaurant area. Nice front desk, chic modern lighting throughout, and friendly servers in the restaurant.
Some small things: tiny rooms with even tinier bathrooms. Those bathrooms are the smallest I've ever seen in a Marriott. If bathroom space is paramount to you, this is not the venue to book.
Nice patio overlooking the river but it was early February so a big no go on the pa-ti-o.
Typical rough as sandpaper towels that the Marriott chain worldwide loves to pile in your bathroom. Come on Marriott: Sofitel can do it right. Four Seasons can do it right. Kimpton can do it right. Is there some worldwide fetish you have for cat tongue quality bath towels?
Modern decor that is normally seen in newly updated Renaissance properties. Nice, albeit small, flat screen TVs. The 32" screens look like a hood ornament atop the dresser in which it is perched. Typical Marriott bedding. Typical Marriott concierge lounge. Expensive drinks in the lounge and a new tip line for drinks, when the bar is self serve. Hmmmmm.......
Guest upon check in gloated about the wondrous food in the restaurant. The restaurant IS beautiful but the food was typical hotel fare, with maybe a 1/2 star notch up. It did its part to fill me on a blustery night in which I did not want to set foot outside, but that's about the highest mark I can give it.
Overall: a pleasant stay, and beautiful view, but for the price and room size I wouldn't call it special.
