“Enjoyable Stay with Some Minor Glitches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Great location with gorgeous views from the rooms -- right on the river facing Cincinnati. Gorgeous bar and restaurant area. Nice front desk, chic modern lighting throughout, and friendly servers in the restaurant.

Some small things: tiny rooms with even tinier bathrooms. Those bathrooms are the smallest I've ever seen in a Marriott. If bathroom space is paramount to you, this is not the venue to book.

Nice patio overlooking the river but it was early February so a big no go on the pa-ti-o.

Typical rough as sandpaper towels that the Marriott chain worldwide loves to pile in your bathroom. Come on Marriott: Sofitel can do it right. Four Seasons can do it right. Kimpton can do it right. Is there some worldwide fetish you have for cat tongue quality bath towels?

Modern decor that is normally seen in newly updated Renaissance properties. Nice, albeit small, flat screen TVs. The 32" screens look like a hood ornament atop the dresser in which it is perched. Typical Marriott bedding. Typical Marriott concierge lounge. Expensive drinks in the lounge and a new tip line for drinks, when the bar is self serve. Hmmmmm.......

Guest upon check in gloated about the wondrous food in the restaurant. The restaurant IS beautiful but the food was typical hotel fare, with maybe a 1/2 star notch up. It did its part to fill me on a blustery night in which I did not want to set foot outside, but that's about the highest mark I can give it.

Overall: a pleasant stay, and beautiful view, but for the price and room size I wouldn't call it special.

“Business Trip with a view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Have just completed a business trip to Covington, KY
This Marriott is so wonderful. All of the employees are so accommodating and nice. I have had the pleasure of interacting with several of the Hotel staff just because I have been on an very long trip (two weeks). The Hotel staff all seem to realize that I have been here for awhile and have made a point to recognize this fact -- in a very concerned matter. Very nice people, very nice hotel, very nice experience from all groups.

I am scheduled to come back here in a few weeks and have no problem doing so and know that I will feel just as comfortable next time as I am from this visit. Thank you to this exceptional staff at the Marriott RiverCenter in Covington KY!

“Great Getaway...my favorite hotel in the area”

We've stayed in just about every hotel of this star rating in the area...the Embassy Suites, the Westin, the Hyatt, the Hilton Netherlands and the Cincinnatian. By far the Marriott RiverCenter is the best! the rooms are comfy and the staff is exceptional. Services are great. We splurged this time and opted for a room on the concierge level...and loved it! Evening reception was lovely...with yummy appetizers and dessert. Soft drinks are complimentary. Alcohol is not...but prices were reasonable. The concierge lounge was lovely. We didn't opt for the breakfast there the next morning, as a full breakfast was included in our room rate...so we went to the restaurant.
Our king room was comfortable and spotless...bed was so nice...sheets soft.
WE did eat dinner in restaurant downstairs...10 West...food was good and servers were nice. View was spectacular. Perfect getaway.

“Marriott River Center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

My total experience with my stay was nothing short of impressive. I was in town for a photography seminar at the adjoining Convention Center, I arrived at 9 am and the hotel gave me early check-in. Room had a great view of the Ohio River. At every turn when I encounter Marriott staff they inquired if I was enjoying my stay and if they could do anything for me. The room was decorated well and came with a desk. I plan to stay here again later this year.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have a view of the Ohio River and the Cincinnati cityscape.

“Sufficient, but not wowed considering the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This hotel is nice, but not a great value for the price. The entrance way is impressive and staff was superb. Very nice and helpful. Very quick check in. The rooms are small and bathrooms are definitely in need of some updating, but clean and comfortable. The bed and bedding is great -- got a good night's sleep. Bar and Restaurant in the hotel are both good. Concierge level for breakfast was good, but would have liked to have had bacon with my eggs (personal preference). The lady tending to breakfast though -- outstanding. So nice! Riverview room is worth it at night. Beautiful Cincy Skyline.

All in all - a good stay. However, it was VERY pricey and for that I would have expected a fully renovated room.
