“Concert trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

The hotel is very clean. Had to wait a bit to check in. The walls are paper thin. After returning from the concert, there were a room full of boys next to us. We could hear every word they spoke. They were body slamming a younger boy on the bed and could not have been more loud. This went on from about 11 PM to about 2 AM. I called the front desk at midnight. An hour later I heard someone knock on the door next to us. They settled down for about 20 minutes. Then, bouncing off the walls until about 2 AM. There could not have been an adult in that room, as I informed the man at the desk. It was a very bad experience, and though not the property itself, I feel something could have been done sooner to quiet these kids down. And, seriously, there could be no insulation in those walls. You could hear the person in the room on the other side snoring! Not a good night.

“Need update and change of attitudes”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

Upon attempting to check-in at 12:30 I was advised my room wouldn't be ready for a "couple hours". I mentioned that I'd take any non smoking room and while the front desk person was helpful one of the housekeeping staff made a comment along the line "check-in isn't until 2:00 pm". I understand the check-in time but not really the reception I was looking for and not the treatment for someone who stays at Hiltons a lot.

The business center is interesting - I thought it might be a museum. The computer had 3.5 hard disc and the monitor was a 14" Magictron that I think I had in 1988. Really, is $500 too much to upgrade to a laptop or decent desk top?

Room is a bit dated also. I was told that this property often is sold out. I can't understand why.

“Quiet, clean and comfortable”

Spent the night here on our way to Gatlinburg. We werre greeted warmly when we checked in. The guest clerk informed us there was fresh baked cookies and milk in the breakfast area. A nice touch and they were very good. Our room was clean, smelled good and the bed was extremely comfortable. Nice and firm. Breakfast in the morning was the typical Hampton Inn breakfast. but tasty and better than at most of the other chain hotels. The tables and floor were clean as well as the food areas. All in all a very good stay and we will definitely stay here again on our way to Gatlinburg in December.

“Best accommodation all week!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

I have only started recently to stay at Hampton Inns while on business or pleasure. I have become a fan, never disappointed. This hotel was located in a spot away from neighboring hotels and traffic, somewhat on a hill-top. Clean, quiet, and an outdoor heated pool that was spotless and refreshing. We found incredible coupons at the Kentucky Welcome Center that made our decision to stay a no-brainer. The help and staff were accommodating. This was a great wind-down for our last night on a 9-day vacation!

“4.5 star service; 3 star property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

Stayed at this property for one night while visiting nearby Cumberland Falls.
First, let me say the customer service was exceptional, except for one person. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Answered questions, got what we needed, etc. I even left something behind when i checked out, and hours later, when i returned home and called, they had already found it, and boxed it up for FedEx to send back to me.
I TRULY appreciated that. The one exception i referred to was a woman working the breakfast. They had a hard time keeping things stocked, warm, and the garbage cans were overflowing. There was a particular item that was flat empty, and I asked her "are you out of those?" her reply was "Well, yeh, they take 15 minutes to cook, and we only have 20 more minutes left anyway". I thought that was slightly lazy & rude, sorry.
The property itself was OK. There were leaky places in the ceiling, very worn carpets, and the bathroom was clean enough, but I have seen better in many other Hamptons. Also, this did not matter to me, but in the town of Corbin on Hwy 25 there is a billboard for this hotel advertising an indoor pool. Their pool is NOT indoor!
Also the "business center" has a very old, very slow desktop unit. poor visibility on the screen, and took forever to print something out. not life changing,. but inconvenient.
If we return, we'd probably stay here again, since the rate was fair enough.
