I stayed at the Presidents' House for a few nights this summer while my father was recovering from surgery at the VA in Arlington. I just wasn't impressed with the hotels in the area, and I have stayed in several B & B's in the past so I thought I'd give them a try. Upon arrival, I was treated almost like a family member. I was brought to my room (very spacious Kennedy room on the first floor), which was filled with interesting stuff! It was clean and comfortable. The house has tons of history and the hostess was very knowledgable about the history of the town and home and we sat up for hours each night chatting. I had a great breakfast each day as well. I enjoyed Ashland, which is close by, but I'm really glad that I stayed at the Presidents House. There is a beautiful park in Ashland complete with fireflies flying around at dusk! I had some great food there too at an Italian Restaurant. I would recommend this B & B. Yes you can hear the train, but it was fine.
