I was in the area for the races on October 2-2011. When I first arrived, the night auditor kindly had to explain that because of new ownership they were no longer to able to honor our rate that had been quoted to us online. I understand that things like this happen and this girl was very apologetic and even called her manager to see what could be done. She also went on to explain that they had asked our online reservation company call us to explain the rate difference but no one ever contacted us. She also explained that as the internet reservations came across to their system, they did not have the contact information to contact us themselves or they would have done so. Obviously we were not the first guest that had be upset about the rate changes. She told us that we would have to call the internet reservation company to get our money back from them but they could put us in a room for the new rate, which we gladly took.
As you walked in they had fresh cookies and milk in the breakfast bar area that you could see as you walked in the door. The next morning the breakfast consisted of fresh coffee, fresh donuts, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice and milk. The night clerk was very pleasant and very accomodating to our needs and answered any questions we had.
The rooms were very well cleaned and quiet. We will definately stay in this hotel again when we come back for the races next year.
