“Bourbon Trail starting point”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

My wife and I stayed at the RoseMark for a long weekend this fall. Bardstown is a great starting point for visiting the distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. Loved our room and breakfast was great. Normally we don't stay at B&B's, but decided to give this one a try -- no regrets. Especially like that during breakfast, we all had our own tables. My wife and I don't get away as much as we'd like and appreciated the fact that we didn't have to sit at a large table and carry on conversations with other travelers.

“Loved it so much we stayed an extra night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

We truly enjoyed staying at Rosemark Haven! We arrived by motorcycle and had reserved the Halstead Room for one week night. We enjoyed the Inn and Bardstown so much, we stayed another night. We would have stayed a third night but, since our request was last-minute and it was was Friday night, the inn was already full. Instead of staying at another B&B Friday night, we just went on with our trip. That's how much we liked it.

I was shocked at the negative comments from some of the previous guests. It may be that the innkeepers read the criticisms and made the necessary changes or it may be that some people aren't used to B&Bs. Please keep in mind that most B&Bs are someone's HOME and that should be respected. It is not a restaurant (with several meal choices) and it is not a modern hotel (with room for all of your "stuff" on the vanity).

The owners were gracious and accomodating. We enjoyed Mike and appreciated the time he spent talking to us and the interest he took in our vacation. We didn't realize that Bardstown was on Eastern time (we were on Central). As soon as we realized this and that were running an hour late, we left a message apologizing and kept them updated on our progress. The B&B is a bit difficult to find, but there are detailed directions on the website & confirmation e-mail. However, since we were on the motorcycle we couldn't keep referring to them. Although we arrived late, we were warmly welcomed.

We loved staying here so much, we plan on staying longer next year & renting out the Federal House.

Room Tip: Majority of room have baths only (no stand-up shower). Whether or not there is a shower is noted on...

“A Solid Option for the Bourbon Trail”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

My husband and I stayed in the Riter room at the Rosemark while doing the Bourbon trail and overall this is definitely a great option.

Our room was spacious and very clean. We had our own separate entrance on the side of the house and this gave the room an added feeling of privacy. However the bathroom was outside of the room -- just a few steps away -- in the service hallway. The website clearly describes this arrangement, but I somehow missed this piece of information. If I were to stay at the Rosemark Haven again, I would definitely opt for a room with an en-suite bathroom.

Other than that the breakfast was tasty and hearty and the staff were (very) chatty but also helpful.

“Plan to return in the fall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

Our experience at the RoseMark Haven was positive in every way. Congenial host and
staff. Our room was exceptional, and the breakfasts were outstanding. The WiFi provided
is fast. Our two day stay went by very fast. The B&B is centrally located for the R.J.Corman
lunch and dinner train, which was our primary reason for visiting the area. The town of
Bardstown is historic, as is the B&B itself, and has some wonderful shopping. Further out,
one has access to man sites and points of interest. We look forward to a return trip n the fall.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Stiles Master Suite, which has its own entrance, and is very quiet.

“Wonderful, will be back as soon as we can”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

My husband and I stayed a long weekend in July. Previous reviews describe Mike and Nikki as rude and so on, so we were a little reluctant to stay in this B&B but we gave it a try. All we can say is that they were very nice and enjoyable people. The service was good and the place was nice and clean! We will stay in this B&B again and will recommend it to anybody that likes taking the best of every place they stay and the people they meet as we do. :)
