I had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Guest House in Wichita Kansas for a very long extended business trip and then returned and stayed there again to give them another chance. On the first visit, I found a crack pipe wrapped up in my towels. It fell out and broke on the floor to my surprise. I requested a room change, my next room had a really bad problem of ants in the bed. This place, on the weekend is where men bring their escorts. loud noises were heard every weekend. When my work crew and I tried to use the laundry facilities they didn't work. The clothes didn't spin in the washer so drying them was costly and difficult. This last trip, a year later, the fire alarms went off all night one night, I slept in my car. Then when trying to do laundry, the same thing happened again. So, I spent the night at the laundry-mat. The front desk personell are incompetant except for Pete. Pete is the manager and I feel really bad for him because he deserves better. He is as helpful as he can possible be with the conditions he is given. THe rest of the staff can not send a fax for you or help you in any way. They give a lot of apologies and that is the extent of what they do to make the Guest house a better place. The last thing I have to complain about are the beds. They are king size, which is nice, but hard as a rock. Whatever they wash the sheets in makes me itch unmercifully. Overall, I have stayed in worse hotels. Will I go back? Probably not if I have any choice. Unfortunately my company likes the price which is very good. What you get: a whole bunch of promises, a hard bed, no (and I mean NO) services what so ever.
