I was moved twice at this Howard Johnson hotel because of loud constant running toilets until I was upgraded to their suite where the plumbing worked. Seriously, who ever thinks about bad plumbing while staying at a hotel? All three rooms had extremely soft mattresses which I found difficult to sleep on. I finally left to go to a La Quinta hotel a few minutes away. La Quinta was a few dollars more and the hotel was dated, the rooms were smaller, and they still haven't upgraded to flat panel TVs but I was much more comfortable and the firmness of the mattress was what you find at decent hotels. Sleep at last!

This was our first stay at Howard Johnson. We selected it due to its proximity to the airport. Our stay turned out better than expected. The room was very clean and pleasantly smelling. Linens were clean. Hotel staff was friendly and there was ample parking space. The hotel room had a microwave, hair dryer, refrigerator, iron board, TV, coffee maker and free internet. It was worth the money we paid. Would definitely recommend to others.

I woke at 3:18 am to find a BUG in my bed, crawline up my back in my night clothes. at Howard Johnson Express, Wichita airport location on August 27, 2011. Night attendant Gary [--]was sleeping in the receptionist chair at the desk. I had to wake him to complain about the bug. When I showed him the crushed carcass of the insect, (appears to be a tick or a bed bug) he offered to change rooms (i had to make the move). I refused and asked to be credited for the night's stay. I have a flight at 7:20 AM today. He said he would call in ten minutes to tell me how he would credit my charges. My business partner is in an adjoining room, and who knows what his experience was.
it's now 4:18 AM,... no call in ten minutes as promised.
A miserable, exhausting experience? YES!

Hotel was easy enough to find and the front desk person was exceptionally friendly. We stayed here off of points received through Wyndham Hotels so it did not cost us a cent. Was considered by Wyndham to be a Tier 2 hotel. (Tier 4 being the best.)

The rooms looked nice enough and clean, however, the bathroom floor was sticky so I used a wet handtowel to wipe up the stickiness and the towel was filthy by the time I was finished. Since the floor is a colored, patterned linoleum, you could not tell how dirty it was until I tried to clean a spot.

The hotel advertises free WiFi, but I could not get online. My computer read that I could not get a good signal from their modem. Since it was very late - 3am, I did not call the front desk to complain, as I did not want to change rooms with my son sleeping already. Since we were only staying one night, I did not complain to management until we left.

The toilet was hard to flush. One had to hold the handle for about 10 seconds in order to get a full flush of the toilet. Also had some hairs left in the tub from previous residents.
