If all you want is a clean place to stay then fine. But if you want to feel appreciated as a guest then find somewhere else to stay. I was traveling alone with a two year old. I chose this hotel because the website offers shuttle to the airport and free parking. When I called to reserve my room, I asked the hotel staff member if this service was still offered and she said "yes". So I arrived the next evening and informed the staff memeber that I would need a ride to the airport. She replied "you need a ride?!", in a very unkind tone of voice.
I was hoping the morning staff would be more appreciative of my stay. But when I came down on time for the shuttle, not once did she look up to say hello to me. I received no help with my two suit cases, car seat and toddler in stroller the whole time....no "can I help with this door for you?" After loading all my items in the van all by myself, we rode to the airport with no air conditioning, just the warm humid air blowing in from the driver window. No conversation was made, I felt to unappreciated as a guest. No "how was your stay" or "thank you for staying with us."
We arrived at the airport and I was almost in tears from the way I was treated. I unloaded my two suit cases, stroller, my two year old and car seat and sat everything on the curb. I told the driver that I had everything. I did not tip because she did not make any effort to help me with one thing...oh yes, but she did open the back door of the van. I was so upset when I came into the airport and received much help from other travelers there.
I have stayed at many hotels in my lifetime and this is the first that have not felt appreciation as a guest.
