“Very Nice Hotel, Great Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Booked this hotel thru Priceline for $55 plus $12 taxes and fees each for two rooms. When checking they asked to put us in a room with two beds but had no problem when I asked for a King. She gave us a room on the 10th floor facing the river. Lobby and ball room facilities were updated and very clean and well appointed. Had read some reviews that the said the rooms needed updating, I saw no evidence of this. The two rooms we had which were on different floors were just as nicely appointed as the lobby and ball rooms. Everything worked as it should. I do agree with everyone who considers the wifi charges antiquated, most hotels do not charge for this service any longer. Some had mentioned that there was a charge for parking however, we were never charged for it. Other than paying for wifi my only disappointment would be the orduerves we ordered at the bar. They were very nicely presented but the bread the bruschetta came with was hard as a rock, When I complained, the person from the kitchen staff came out and told me it was supposed to be that hard, sorry, I've had bruschetta in many places, have made my own many times and have never had bread that hard. It just about broke the plate when I tried cutting it. It was a small glitch in an otherwise great experience and they did take the bruschetta off our bill. This was an upscale hotel at a value price.

“Nice appearance.great location”

This hotel is a nice clean place to stay in Wichita. If you are on a budget though it may not fit you. The rooms were clean but beware of the hotel policy on noise. Apparently if you happen to get a room that has one of those adjoining doors you will not be allowed to watch tv after a certain hour. I literally was told by security to turn off my tv. It was only normal volume but they said the guests on the other side of the door were complaining. So due to bad hotel design I cannot watch tv? I left immediately as switching rooms apparently is not an option either.

Room Tip: Do not accept a room that has an adjoining door. All noise goes through to the room next door.

“Nice suprise in Wichita”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I was somewhat suprised to find a Hyatt in town but I happpily decided to stay here instead of the usual travel hotels. Very clean, updated hotel. Nice lobby and restaurant. Seriuoisly it's the best restaurant in town! I stay in some very big cities with excellent restaurants. Harvest is a great find. I ususally hate hotel buffets but this was a suprise. Excellent fruit/dairy bar, great hot foods and made to order eggs, pastry table, coffee and jusice for $15! I have lunch the second day with a colleague and we both raved. Dinner was at another place in town, it was ok compared.

The rooms are nicley appointent with most modern conviences. Beds confortable and clean.
My only concern was the bathroom fixtures. All the renovations and the either left the old faucets and showerheads or just went cheap. A upgrade would be a nice idea.
Other than that it's 5 starts for the rooms.

Last the staff was very nice and professional. I was greeted each time with a smile and suggestions if asked. The servers in the restarant were great as was the bartender for a nitghtcap.

Stay here and you wont be dissapointed!

Room Tip: I read corner rooms were good. Mine was center looking out to the city.

“Our new favorite Wichita hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We visit Wichita 4-5 times a year to visit family and friends, and for the last 3+ years we have been staying at Homewood Suites at the Waterfront - a very nice place to stay on the far east side of town. But their prices kept creeping up and up, and we had grown tired of their breakfasts (breakfast is my favorite meal of the day). Then last fall we went to a conference at Friends University, and the host hotel was the Hyatt Regency downtown on the river. We stayed there for three nights and loved it, particularly the high quality buffet breakfasts with omelets, pancakes, etc., made to order, along with fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal, and pastry options and trimmings. Very nice service and top-notch coffee and fresh orange juice too! The room itself was not large like Homewood but was nicely decorated and the bed and bathroom were to the usual high Hyatt standards.

We went back in December for Christmas and stayed four more nights, as did our daughter and son-in-law in a nearby room. We upgraded ($25 more) to a nice Executive King Corner room (larger) with a view of the river on the 14th floor and really loved our stay again. We had purchased a package which included breakfast and parking (attached parking deck) for $99/night - a great deal! Even though we missed the more convenient free parking at Homewood, the larger size rooms, and the nice dining room where we could get together and play cards and visit, the four of us were able to get together in the bar at the Hyatt and play cards and visit in comfort.

With a large group, especially with kids, we would recommend Homewood instead, but the Hyatt is our new favorite place for our future visits. Close to downtown, can easily go east or west(our family/friends are located on both sides of town), truly 1st class breakfast and exceptionally friendly service - what more could you wish for?

Room Tip: Corner rooms have great views and very sunny and light - the higher floors have better views.

“Nice hotel - great down town location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

The Hyatt is a very nice hotel located in Down town Wichita. The hotel over all is very nice - however our room was just a bit dated. The restaurant is excellent and priced as you would expect at a Hyatt hotel. Dinner drinks with tip in the $100.00 range.

Room Tip: ask for a river view room - they are quieter and a better view.
