“Good value, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Spent two nights at Hampton Inn Shawnee and was very pleased. Check-in was a breeze. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was roomy and functional. Bed was very comfy! My room was a king with a small sofa, which I always prefer. Location was great, immediately off I-435. Several decent restaurants around (my coworkers and I especially enjoyed the Mexican restaurant just a few steps out the front door). There was also a movie theater nearby. Indoor pool and hot tub looked nice. Breakfast was standard continental fare.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area. I look for value, and this place had it. I'm sure I'll be back!

“A good value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We have stayed at this Hampton Inn a few times over the last couple of years. It is clean, well run, and usually can be had for a good price if booked online. The location is somewhat remote depending on what you are in town for, but it right at the I-435 exit. I would definitely stay here again.

“Fine Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Chose this hotel based on location and the Hilton logo. It was a good choice. Not a great area for tourism, but it was fine for our purposes. We were in town for a family event, and this location was ideal for us for one night. The staff, as others have mentioned, are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet, housekeeping staff was friendly, also. The breakfast was very good. There is no reason I would not return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Away from the highway.

“Great hotel & service, close to Speedway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

We were looking for a hotel for a family trip to KC that was somewhat close to the Kansas Speedway. I found this one with a reasonable price of $99 a night. We've stayed in Hampton Inns before and like their accommodations plus free breakfasts. The hotel is right off of I-435, but you kind of have to drive towards the back of a strip shopping mall to find it. Once you're there, it's best to park in the back of the hotel to have better access to the elevator since it's towards the back. (Back lot is well lit). The room was clean and the beds very comfy, as in most Hamptons. The breakfast was good, with sausage and waffles available all 3 days of our stay. Tables were available and clean when we went to eat. My son enjoyed the pool and said it was "OK.." It met all of our expectations and the front desk clerk upon checking out was extremely friendly and asked us to please come back. This hotel is only about a 5-10 minute drive from the Speedway and Legends area, but about 35-45 from Worlds of Fun. Big shopping mall is about 20 minutes away, so it's a good location. Neighborhood was nice. We plan to stay here again in our next visit to KC!

Room Tip: The room rate on the Hampton website was just as low as any on Priceline, Kayak, Hotels.com, etc .

“they are all the same”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

if you have been in one of these hotels close to the highway and in a more or less uninteresting shopping neighborhood, you may know these kind of hotels.
Here in this one the frinedly staff at the reception desk is worth to mention.
The rooms are clean and i had a good sleep.
there are some restaurants close and the beer bar was recommended by the reception with a free beer voucher.
