First of all let me start by saying that I know the difference between a 1 star motel and 5 star hotels. I have stayed in both and know that you generally get what you pay for. I was by no means expecting great things from this stay. I was on a roadtrip and just needed a bed to sleep in for 8 hours before hitting the road again. This being said this was the WORST motel that I have ever stayed in. We checked into the room and it was freezing cold. We turned on the heat and ice cold air came blasting out. Thinking that it might just need a few minutes to warm up we turned the heater onto low. Luke warm air eventually came from the vents. When turned up to the high setting it was Ice cold once again. We called the front desk to ask to be switched to a room with a working heater and was told no and that all the heaters only worked on low.
It was the middle of the night in February and the heaters will only blow lukewarm air. We booked the hotel using a third party website so I called them to see what our options were as far as canceling. The third party representative called the hotel and when she was talking to me the Manager called us back on the room phone and told my husband and I that we needed to "leave and go find a Hampton Inn". We checked out 2 minutes later. Unfortunately I have stayed in other Americas Best Value Inn's and never had this kind of experience but because of this I will NEVER stay at another one.
