I've stayed here twice when visiting the KC area. The location is good very near I-435, but would be hard to find without a GPS. The rooms are starting to show their age and could use some updating or minor maintenance (corner of the wallpaper loose), but in general was clean. The breakfast actually included scrambled eggs and sausage, something most economy hotels don't offer with an included breakfast. I especially liked that they let you bring your pets and don't charge extra because you do. I called to check in early and they said it would be fine. For just a little under $60, you'd be hard pressed to find anything else as good for the money.

Every time that I travel, I always stayed in La Quinta Inns & Suites until now. I went to Kansas City and checked in. When I entered the room, I found the room with the beds dirty and not made, trash in the room and the bathroom even had blood in the toilet and pubic hair in the bathtub. I checked out, because how can i stay in that room, which had germs, with my children. I am disappointed, that I honestly don't think I will ever be using their hotels any more. And will tell everyone I know to not use a Quinta hotel and what happened. I am disgusted. I never write reviews, but the quality of this hotel made me sick.

We stayed here because we were in a hotel block for a wedding. My biggest complaint with this La Quinta location was that we reserved two cribs, but on our arrival, we were informed that the hotel does not provide cribs--they weren't out, they just don't have them at all.

When we asked what people with kids are supposed to do, they said, "Most people travel with their own bedding for children." Yes, I love checking my crib on a plane, that's so convenient! We spent many hours the holiday weekend of a wedding trying to track down Pack n Plays for our kids, since we didn't really want to spend extra hundreds of dollars on two Pack n Plays for two nights.

When we requested that they purchase Pack n Plays for us or bring in cribs from other locations (since we did reserve two cribs), they refused, all the while wearing their infuriating big old Midwestern smiles, which just made it all the more maddening.

This place is understaffed. Frequently there was only one person working the desk and no manager on call to address our problems with the cribs; there is also not enough cleaning staff.

The cleaning staff did not clean our room (we were there for two nights). We were gone from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m, and did not clean it, even though the cleaning staff leaves at 3. We asked to at least have fresh towels brought up, and the front desk refused to send any because they didn't have staff, and we had to go get them.

Management did not offer anything in return for the hassle of having no cribs, even though they promised them.

The only upside to this place is that it has a nice-sized common courtyard with tables where you can eat breakfast or get some fresh air and kids can safely run around (the pool is fenced).

But if you travel with babies or toddlers, do not stay at this La Quinta. They will kill you with kindness and expect your kids to roll off the bed or sleep on the floor.

I got in late on Sunday night for a meeting early the morning in the area. The hotel is located back off the main road nut is still very close to the interstate. When I arrived in the room there was no soap and the front desk person was very helpful in taking care of what I needed. There are several restaurants within a couple of minutes of the property. Rooms were starting to show their age but was to be expected with what I paid. Overall I will probably look at other properties in the area before I choose to come back again.
