Initially, I was surprised at the price, Overland Park, KS has nice corporate areas. $50 a night.
However, to me, if they can't sanitize the toilets they sure as heck can't be trusted to clean any place else in the room. We checked-in late and the first room we went in had some kind of translucent gunk (looked like a think layer of vaseline) on half the toilet seat. It glistened in the light when I reached for a piece of toilet paper for make-up removal. Fortunately we hadn't sat on it! WHICH MEANS NO ONE HAD WIPED OFF OR SANITIZED THE TOILET. To me this would be a bare minimum requirement. I don't how cheap the price of the room. Second room initially looked ok, until I laid down in the bath tub. The side and underside of the toilet had dried "stuff" that had trickled from under the toilet seat down the side. Which tells me this toilet didn't get cleaned either. We got sanitizing wipes and cleaned off the toilet seat and everything we touched in the room. it was late, we were exhausted. We checked out the next day and won't be going back. When will I learn. No matter how nice the area, a cheap hotel is still a cheap hotel.
