We stayed here for one night as we had a family function in town. Unfortunately, the reservations were made by my mother-in-law who hadn't known to look to TA for reviews.
In short, the hotel is falling apart and unsanitary (I will also be filing a complaint with the city).
First impressions: You are knocked over from the overwhelming smell of chlorine and humid air upon opening the front doors. The elevator buttons have wallpaper either peeling away around them or simply missing altogether. The elevators themselves seem as if they have no air in them whatsoever. Everything about the hotel in the public spaces just seem as if they have been neglected (and for some time).
Rooms: Humid & dark. (I did read reviews and ensured we stayed on the front side of the hotel away from the train tracks). Shower had mold in it. Our desk in the room had been turned around so that the front was facing the wall. We weren't about to try to turn around to see what happened to the other side.
The worst part of the hotel was the airconditioning. Completely (and I mean completely) filled with MOLD! Inside the airconditioning unit was filled with disgusting black mold and the walpaper around the unit was peeling away only to reveal more mold on the wall. Family members in two additional rooms had the same mold problem, and when checking the air unit out in the hall - same moldy unit with moldy walls around it!
We had to stay because of the party we were attending and no time to debate with the front desk and/or try to find another hotel. Otherwise, we would have high-tailed it out of there. (not to mention we didn't quite know the extent of the problem until we started taking pictures the next morning when we had a little more light to see).
The next morning (and for the next several days) we were all sick.
The conditions were simply deplorable. It is incomprehensible how a business can think it is even remotely ok to allow people to be put at such health risks. Does the Quality Inn corporation not have sanitary standards they must uphold?
Do yourself and your health a favor and find another hotel.
The Holiday Inn in town is new and looks great.

Thank you very much for bringing these issues to our attention. We have used your review and included photos to make improvements in several areas, most importantly the air conditioning units and their cleaning schedule. Your review has shown us areas where we can do better and we will continue to work hard for our customers and ALWAYS use their feedback to ensure the guest experience at the Quality Inn & Suites is the best it can be.
