“Great Stay”

We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the pool area. The kids enjoyed the pool area, while we visited with family at the nearby tables.
There was a mix up with our room at arrival, but it was corrected in minutes with a smile.
The breakfast was great with cereal, donuts, muffins, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, waffles, french toast, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and juice. This made up for the price of the hotel,in our opinion.

“employees are stealing!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2009

We had a very upsetting experience with money taken by a maid (namely Angela and/or her accomplices), and no compensation from the manager for our stay. Here's what happened - We had reserved 3 rooms for us and our adult children for a family wedding. We arrived at midnight and went straight to bed. The next morning I went down to the continental breakfast with my children. I called my husband to come down since he was still sleeping and breakfast time was about to end. He got up quickly, checked his wallet and counted over $700 but did not put it in his pocket since he just pulled on some gym shorts for breakfast. He slightly tucked his wallet next to his suitcase and hurried down to breakfast at 9:30a.m. We both walked back to the room at 10:30 a.m. and found the maid still vacuuming. My husband walked in and noticed his wallet was pulled out from under and unfolded. The maid quickly unplugged her vacuum and headed down the hall. My husband ran down after her and questioned her. She said "I don't have it" and proceded to show him her apron pockets. We got the manager and he came to our room, listened and called the police. Of course, it could not be found. There is absolutely no question that an employee stole it. The 1 hour that we were gone to breakfast is when the maid(s) cleaned. Worse yet the manager gave us no discount. We lost $700-800 in cash and paid $600 for 3 rooms for 2 nights. Then, the clerk at the front desk had the audacily to defend the guilty employee and offer no costumer service whatsoever and tell me I had no right to talk to the maid. What a complete lack of courtesy, empathy and humanity.

“Great hotel”

Just stayed there yesterday on1/3/08. Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and efficent, requested a rollaway it was already in the room when we got there. Pool area was beautiful and pool was warm a pleasent surprise. Room had large flat screen mounted on wall, refrig and microwave in room very nice. A little disappoinetd in breakfast, was more like a embelished continental breakfast with some frozen sausages and waffles you had to heat up yourself. But overall a great place to stay.

“Loved the Appletree Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2008

We stayed at the Appletree Inn over the Labor Day weekend.

They offer a buffet breakfast. Upon checking in we inquired if we could pay for family to join us at breakfast. We were told, you are our guests, they are your guests and are welcome to join you at breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast buffet was always fully stocked. The food was fresh and delicious. The coffee pots were never empty

The hotel was immaculate. The staff was more than friendly. We were treated more like family.

We highly recommend the Appletree Inn.

“THE best place in town!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2008

The Appletree Inn is the only REAL hotel in town, and the only place to stay in comfort. Independence is a small town approx. 10,000 and this is the only place to stay that is IN TOWN and not in the outskirts on a major US highway. The staff is wonderfully helpful and was willing to make accomodation for whatever we asked. HIghly recommended!
