The service was pretty darn good, they managed to get us 2 adjoining rooms in spite of the reunion that was in town that weekend. My (elderly) mother was commenting about back pain and one of the girls cleaning her room (volunteered) brought a warming pad for her bed which helped immensely. The staff manning the breakfast bar was always cheerful and helpful, even when dealing with a full spilled cup of hot coffee. The location was very convenient, right downtown. The only drawback I found was the bed which was just a bit too narrow for 2 adults, but was otherwise quite comfortable (and I think they have queen beds available in some of the other rooms). Definitely a recommend if you happen to be needing a hotel in Independence, KS.
