My husband and I recently stayed at the Holton House while traveling in the area. We had a wonderful time. Shaun and Tara are warm and gracious hosts. We found the room to be very cozy and charming. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was definitely one of the best beds we've ever slept in at a bed and breakfast. The bathroom was also very roomy with plush towels and robes. Everything was spotless and completely clean. We also enjoyed the flat screen tv in our room.

While at the inn we also enjoyed the food. Tara has a catering business so I would say the food here is very good.

If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely chose to stay at Holton House.

Holton House is by far the best place to stay in Holton! From the moment we arrived, to the departing last wave, we could feel the warmth and genuine hospitality that Shaun and Tara possess. Their's is a labor of love and a genuine "family affair" and the experience could not have been more wonderful. We were in town for a funeral (not the happiest of times), but returning each night to Holton House was like stepping into our own quiet oasis. From the evening treat of chocolate cake, enjoyed on our private balcony, to the fabulously delicious gourmet breakfast, everything was done with the comfort and needs of the visitor coming first. We took advantage of Tara's culinary skills by utilizing their dining room for a family dinner (25 people) which was absolute perfection. Their children helped with the presentation of food and drink and were absolutely precious, adding immensely to our enjoyment of the meal. The rooms are spacious here and you really feel like you are a guest in their home rather than a customer. The towels and robes are soft and fluffy and the bed is a dream!. All in all, Holton House is the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever experienced and I would whole-heartedly recommend anyone staying there. If you have to be away from home, this is the place to be.....absolute perfection!
