I was tired and this is the first motel I came to. The room smelled musty, the walls were beat up, needs paint, there was duct tape on the threshold (maybe holding the carpet down. Does not have a long distance carrier. It reminded me of motels from the 50's. The cost was low but even with that factor I felt it could be MUCH better. In 2010 no computer access was a disappointment.

I came in at night and couldn't see the rail yards.. \\\whistles and horns all night. When I complained in the morning the women says"\some people like the noise." \Really? Who are these people who like to not sleep at night? At least the toilet flushed.

Great experience!‎‎ I recently stayed at the Budget in Host in Emporia, KS. With excellent cable and free wifi it is an excellent value. The staff were great.

My wife and myself travel from Texas to Iowa at least once a year. We discovered this place a couple of years ago. If you want to save money and can do without a lot of frills, this is the place to stay. It was probably built at least 50 or more years ago but is clean and in good repair.

It is one story construction, and you can park right in front of the door to your room. This makes for very easy loading and unloading your stuff. The ice machine worked fine but on our last visit, we had a little problem making the key to our room work. I expect this problem will be taken care of.
