Stayed here on our way home from Tulsa -- all the hotels in town were full for Emporia State Homecoming and we wound up with a handicapped room. Beautiful, clean, great staff, REALLY comfy bed, and quiet even though it's near the freeway! Really nice workout room and laundry, only dissapointments were no pool or spa and no breakfast!! There is a vending store you can buy things in and a kitchenette though. Would have liked better shampoos/soaps/etc in the rooms.

What a great place to stay and the staff so warm and friendly. Thanks Brain and Sandra. I have 3 dogs and if I knew they took dogs I would of stayed there several trips ago. Went to website that tells what hotels take pets and found them after a horrilbe stay in the Comfort Inn down the road from them on my trip to Iowa. The room was very clean and really nice. You get a magnet that you put on the door saying pets are inside. It just was a joy to stay there and after a terrible experience in the Comfort Inn in Emporia that had a moldy musty smell and thin walls and things falling apart and terrible service this was so wonderful to find and to stay there. I will stay there again and the room was less than the Comfort Inn and had a small kitchen area which was nice. A nice way to relax after driving 6 hours and the next day another 8 hours back to TX. Felt refreshed and the staff and even the guest there made me feel welcome. It was a GREAT place to stay at.

We have stayed at the Candlewood Suites several times. It is very conveniently located when visiting family. We tried another nearby hotel and was disappointed so we went back. The rooms are large and comfortable. Beds are crisp and clean and comfy. Free wireless access. Wal-Mart is right across the street to do basic grocery shopping for use in the kitchenette area although their "Pantry" prices are not bad either. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Coffee is good (although not wonderful if you are picky) Bathrooms are large and clean. Showers are great. Free popcorn and can of soda tide the kids over until we get to Grandmas for breakfast or make a great late nite snack. There is one room on the first floor that always seems to have an odor. (118 or 126?) The other rooms do not have the same odor don't know why.

Overall a great clean hotel with superb location and value.

We chose the Candlewood suites for the kitchenette. We were able to cook our portion of "Christmas Dinner" to take to the family Christmas dinner. (A turkey in our electric roaster, mac'n'cheese and sweet potatoes) The kitchenette was well stocked with all the cooking utensils and supplies we needed (Although I prefer my potato peeler) The room was large enough for all the stuff a family of 4 needs for several days. The pantry was well stocked with very reasonable prices (50cent can soda, grocery store frozen dinner prices, etc) When we decided to stay an extra day the staff was easily able to accomodate and there are free washer and dryers to wash our clothing. Overall, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
