We were visiting West Union for a family wedding and we had eight rooms here. The staff were all most helpful and the rooms were clean. With so many of us wanting to visit they accomidated us with free coffee and suppling the babies with milk and snacks.The host at breakfast was so helpful and excellant respresentation of the staff! If ever we are this way again we will certainly stay here! Thank You so much!

We stayed at the West Union Super 8 the weekend before Christmas, to visit relatives in nearby Elgin. The hotel lobby and room were quite clean and check-in was efficient. We had a "double non-smoking" room, and this particular Super 8 uses two queen-sized beds instead of two full-sized beds; very nice. We found the room to be quiet, even though it faces the highway. Note that this is a highway in a small town which doesn't see much traffic, so it wasn't really an issue. The pool was warm and pleasant for my husband and I and our two year old son.

I have a few minor criticisms. First, the lowest level where the pool is appeared to have had a moisture problem; there were a couple of dehumidifiers running and it smelled damp. There are no guest rooms on that level, so not too big of a deal. Second, the windows were not of the highest quality so they leaked cold air (it was -10 degrees when we were there); however our room stayed warm. Lastly, the smoking and non-smoking rooms are intermixed. We had no smoky smell in our room, but one could smell smoke in the hallway. Might be a consideration for someone who is sensitive to smoke.

In summary, a nice stay at a reasonable cost. We left a child's toy there and the hotel offered to send it to us via mail, asking if they could charge the $7 shipping fee to the credit card on file. That was fine and I thanked them for contacting us. Plan to stay there again if the relatives' homes are full.

Very friendly welcome. Good size room, but the bed linnen in my room did not smell very fresh. Adequate facilities. Breakfast was limited. Other than that, a nice place to stay.

This motel must have new owners or something, because my experience this weekend was the exact opposite of the previous reviewers'. The facilities were clean as a whistle, modern, comfortable and convenient. The continental breakfast was outstanding -- homemade cinnamon rolls, cereals, waffles made to order by the owner himself. The owner and other staff were friendly and competent. All in all, this place was a pleasure to stay at!
