“Chemical smell (bleach?) in pillowcases”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

I developed water blisters and swelling around my mouth after sleeping on pillowcases that reeked of what seemed to be bleach. I contact Econo Lodge corporate and was told this was a franchise and they would contact me. It's been a month, and they continue to ignore my complaint. At the very least, I would like an apology for having to go through a week of my vacation with sore, swollen, inflamed areas on my face.

“Keep driving”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

We arrived after the early (4 PM) cancellation time, found the room to be dank and musty-smelling. Told desk clerk we couldn't stay for health reasons (asthma). Asked him for refund. He refused. Contacted EconoLodge corporate. After going through procedure in which manager offered only 30% discount on our next stay (ha, ha, ha), corporate sent us coupons for $60 toward our next Choice Hotels stay. Folks, this is a creepy place, close to the Interstate, but not much else; parking lot is gravel; manager claims "We accommodate many guests each evening at this hotel." Not this traveler. I'd rather stay in the Subaru.

“'Vacancy' hotel much?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2009

This hotel reminds us of the hotel from the movie 'Vacancy'. As nice as the pictures look, they fail to show the acess hallway that runs behind the rooms. Conveniently, the acess hallway ran right behind our bathroom. The continental breakfast consisted of chocolate covered doughnuts and cereal with hot coffee. If there is nothing else, this hotel will do, but if you don't want to constantly worry when the crazy hotel clerk is going to lose it (like in 'Vacancy') I would suggest driving those extra few miles.

“when you just need a clean bed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2008

Liked being able to pull right up to our door to unload luggage. Rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast didn't last long enough for our whole family to partake (food gone before 9am!) This is obviously a motel for travellers and not tourists so a bit longer availability would have been appreciated. Otherwise a good place to stay in transit. Maybe a bowl of oranges could be included for breakfast.
