I had a one night stay and arrived late (after 10) - the hotel is older and in need of a makeover, but the room was relatively clean and a good size. The mattress was saggy and there was very, very light water pressure in the shower the next morning (it was a dribble, not light due to a hi-powered water saver shower head) -- and at 6 AM this seemed odd and is always a drag when you need a refreshing blast. The breakfast was a very basic all carbs selection of bagels, toast or boxed cereal, juice, coffee, and milk. For a quick, cheap, one-nighter only.

Stayed here during the Iowa State Fair for its lower price. Not a great location but it was a roof over my head. Adequately clean. Desk staff were very nice and helpful. Not a bad place.

Location was good, we were there on a busy weeknight during the state fair. We were on our way to Denver, and actually went to 5 other hotels, and they were all full, so happened on the Days Inn. It is an older hotel, with basic amenities, but nice and clean. Breakfast in the morning was a limited continental selection, but adequate. Room has a worn carpet and rust stains in the shower. Otherwise, it was good enough for the night. Clost to restaurants. Front desk staff were friendly. Morning breakfast staff not so much. We paid over 100 for the room, and have gotten much nicer rooms for less.

This hotel was so terrible it prompted me to write the very first review I have ever posted! To begin with, the lady at the front desk was rude, and very short. Half of the time she acted like she didn't even hear us talking to her. My family and close family friends took up 7 rooms that night. That's about $700.00 we spent. For our $700 we received paper thin pillows, horribly uncomfortable beds, fitted sheets that seemed too small, as they came off the beds in the middle of the night and left you sleeping on a bare mattress(friggin nasty), a pool that was littered with leaves and insects and strangely wreaked of BO, a dirty, cold hot tub(when we went to the front desk the rude lady clerk for help she said "What!" before we were able to ask her to turn up the heat. As I was picking up the room I noticed a few spit out sunflower seed on the floor so I looked under the bed, and I found dead bugs, piles of lint, old motel coupons and flyers, change, scraps of paper a screw, electrical wire nuts, pens, and a distinct line where they just never bothered to clean. I have a year and a half old that puts anything she finds in her mouth. I wonder what she found that we didn't, and in a reputable establishment I wouldn't/shouldn't have to. As my wife was finishing up with checking out I brought my concerns to the new clerk on duty. He asked me if the clerk was a fatter lady(jerk), and listened to the rest of my concerns. After hearing all of this he explained that the rude clerk's last day was Tuesday, so they had to put up with her, "unfortunately we did too", until then. He then began to threaten to fire the housekeeping staff (who weren't even around) to me which seemed odd. Then he asked me if there was anything else he could help me with and told me to have a good day. There was no offer of compensation, no discounted future visit, no gratification. No one in my party will ever be back. THE BBQ NEXT DOOR WAS HORRIBLE TOO!
