Forget about special rates during the state fair time. If you can find a room, I suggest you book it.
That’s how I found this hotel. It turned out to be a little more expensive than what I usually pay in this area, but not outrageous either.
The room, a suite without doors, was clean comfortable and came with a breakfast with no additional charge. That makes it a very competitive hotel in my book. The pillow top mattress was very comfortable.
If TV is your thing, find another place. Old style box TV in our room should have been scrapped 3 years ago, but there was a microwave, and refrigerator. The coffee maker in the room was out and ready to use, after tasting the coffee at the comp breakfast, I recommend using it.
The helpful staff told me at 320PM that my room was not ready yet BUT had no problem and were willing to process my credit card and admit my wife and me separately at a later time WITH suitable identification. I think that last qualifier is important. I understand sometimes there’s not enough time in the day. They didn’t seem particularly apologetic; I guess the expectation was for me to adjust my schedule for them. This day I was able to do so without great angst and made arrangements for later arrival without problems and they were efficient in doing this.
The breakfast was average and adequate but is always included in the room price. If one doesn’t care about the TV, I would consider a stay here again. (I mention this because sometimes I spend more time in the room with the TV than other times). My wife says she liked it better than our usual hotel, (remember though, at a slightly higher cost).

The first thing that should of tiped me off was the lack of supporting the "gov't rate" because it was the last room available(way to stick it the customer)! It was definetly an overcharged rate especially for the room we got! Our carpet was soaking wet which in turn made the whole room smell musty and the humidity in the air was horrible. Our blankets even felt wet..not my idea of a good sleep Then when I tell them about it they give me a whole $27 off my room which still left me paying well over $100 for a crappy room. Our tub had chips in it and the floor was cracked , which doestn hurt anyting but not the look i was going for for the kind of $ i paid! Not impressed with our first and LAST stay at this loccation!! I can say the front desk staff was always friendly, but thats aobut it !!

I should have known better. Anytime a hotel offers waffles the place is infested with families. Unlike cock-roaches, this crowd comes out in the daylight. The hotel is in serious need of updating. Old furniture sits over old carpets that host an old smell. At least the old towels match the outdated decor.

As a business traveler, I was initially treated as an honored aberration. The front desk person gave me a gift bag, designating my awards status with Marriott. The bag cost more than the snack items inside. Still ... she tried. Most of the help did. It wasn't really their fault that the evening reception's beer was flat, the chips were stale, and the kids were having their eighth free meal of the day.

Next time I'll go next door to the Marriott. And leave this place to the Brady Family.

well this was a second time staying here and the rooms are getting a little worn. But for the price, this is one good hotel. Since all rooms are suites, you have mini fridges and micros in all rooms. Also a nice breakfast is included. Hotel also has an average size pool that my 10 month old just loved. Overall, I'm sure we will return.
