Stayed for two night in March of 2007 for Business.

Good Points:
- Easy to find. Right of major highways.
- Room was very clean and updated. Had the Executive King Bed room. Lots of Room to spread out. Nice desk and couch.
- Got a new shower head after my 1st day there. They changed the old Shower Massage head to new shiny Stainless Steel one which worked much better.
- Free Breakfast. Ok choices. Not as good as a Hampton Inn though.
- Two free newspapers USA Today and local paper in the afternoon.
- Close to loads of chain restaurants and an OK mall.
- Bed was very comfortable.
- Hotel was full my 2nd night there, but NO problems with noise.

Bad Points.
- Right between a Ford Dealer and a Car Wash. My rooms view was of the Car Lot. Ford F-150s were parked right under my window.
- A/C did not seem to work. But it was cool out so I opened the window a bit.
- Couldn't get the Wireless internet to work. Maybe it was me.
- No Fitness Center. Just a small pool.
- They do have a deal with local hospital's fitness center about 1 1/2 miles away.
- The fitness center was very crowded with people and patients working out. Hard to get on an aerobic machine. But lots of weight machines. Locker Room was very small and only one shower. Free Towels but nothing else.

This was a much nicer place than the Comfort Inn next door where I stayed last year.

The rooms are nicely lit and cozy. The bathroom was roomy enough and the shower was nice and clean. Could use more water pressure in the shower however, and more room on the vanity sink.

Breakfast was nice and had a good variety. The front desk staff was very friendly and service was prompt.

We come to the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area often and in the past, have stayed at a different hotel. We decided to try the Fairfield Inn this time and had a great experience. Clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet stay.

We had a wedding in town and opted to spend an evening at the Fairfield Inn in Waterloo. The location is good, right off a main highway. The hotel is also very close to a large mall, Target and various restaurants. The hotel recently went through a "soft goods" upgrade, and is now completely non-smoking. You could tell it used to be smoking as there was a very strong air freshener smell in the lobby, but my guess is with time that will be gone. The staff was marginally friendly and helpful, but we didn't ask for too much. We stayed in a King bed room which had the basics such as ironer, hair dryer and small coffee pot. It was slightly noisy, but I heard it was UNI's homecoming... so that may have had something to do with. Nothing that kept us up at night. Comfortable bed, and nice clean room. There is free internet, but we didn't have our laptop so not sure of the quality.

There is a very small indoor pool, which we dd not use and they provide complimentary continental breakfast which we skipped.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel for your stays in Waterloo, IA.
