Nice place for the price. Don't have to walk far for parking, but do have to walk a little farther for your "dog duties"
Since I lived in Waterloo for 49yrs, I knew what to expect from the downtown empty buildings surrounding the hotel.
Room was clean, maids were friendly, front desk persons are OK.
Free breakfast every morning, great!

This motel is right downtown Waterloo. It is next to a convention center, but also next to some pretty seedy places. The hotel itself is very nice inside, for an older remodeled motel. The front desk people were very helpful about places eat, and directions. The room we had was a suite, which was fairly nice, and especially for the price range. Our only problem, was the stains on the bedspread. They were pretty bad looking, so we threw it off the bed. I know they don't often wash those things, and the housekeeping staff should have tossed the thing.

Arrival 8.22.11. When elevator opened on 2nd Floor, hallway wreaked cigarette smoke & carpet was extremey soiled. I went to Rm 219, a non-smoking room. In the middle of the room was a large mark on the carpet, which was from a hot iron. The bathroom tile looked bad. Upon inspection of tub, the tile was re-grouted with silicone instead of grout..looked terrible. Behind the toilet, the wall had a piece of painted plywood with rusted screws. The area around this hotel is very seedy. The internet service went down late in the evening on Monday and was not fixed by evening Tuesday. I inquired about this to the front desk and was treated very rudely when I asked for a refund. I asked for a refund of one night's room/tax and was refused. In the morning they gave me a $16 credit, which was not enough for the fiasco at this hotel. I asked for the same refund on the national web site and was refused, even though Quality Inns publishes a 100% Guarantee on this site. I received a "standard" response and it did not even address my request for a full credit. When you comment on this site, it just gets sent back to the local hotel. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. RUDE Management.

The pull out couch for a bed was dirty with candy and all kinds of stuff in it. the fitness room had a broken treadmill and bike. The weights worked ok. the walls were very thin. You could hear the conversations next door and we wondered if they could see in the bathroom because they told us to be quiet and it was like they were there. 1 positive with the experience, was the front desk help were very friendly and helpful. They remembered your name and were very courteous. The websitz stated there was a pool and I had my family and there was not one. One other positive was they charge the same for a suite so I would recommend going that route. Had a continental breakfast only.
