“Great entertainment and decent rooms!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband and I decided to stay over at King's Pointe since we had tickets for a comedian that weekend. Check in was fast and easy. We had reservations for 6:30 at the hotel .restaurant and the comedian started at 8. Good thing we had plenty of time since we didn't leave the restaurant until 7:50. Service was not the best but the food was great! We had the AHI tuna and Ribeye both were great. (my husband asked for his steak medium rare and it came rare which he actually perfers but is leery about ordering it that way). The biggest complaint was our salad and soup were forgotten and we had to ask for them after they brought our entree. Also, they were a little slow on filling our drinks. Overall, it was a nice diner with an amazing view. We went to a conferance room which they had set up for a comedian. The seating was alittle close but it was an amazing time. The comedian was awesome so was the opening act. If you decided to do something like this we suggest seating on the outer edge if you want to get up for drinks. Otherwise it is a bit crowded to get around. There are no waitresses to get drinks for you. Our room was nice. We were on the 2nd floor standard king parking lot side. The walls were VERY thin. We could hear people in the hallways talking (we could actually make out conversations) and we were on the 2nd floor which we suggest the 3rd because we had people above us that were up at 6am walking around and we could hear every step. Enough complaining on to the good stuff. My husband and I forgot a wine bottle opener and the front desk ran it up right away. After that my husband spilt some wine on our comforter and we called the front desk incase they wanted to come get it to get the stain out and they were more concerned we had adaquate bedding. They brought up new blankets right away. The next day my father brought our 13month old daughter and we went to the waterpark. SHE HAD A BLAST. It was January so we obviously used the indoor waterpark which is perfect for little kids. What a fun weekend. We will be back! There is another comedian in March!! :)

Room Tip: 3rd floor maybe less noise! Lakeside would be nice but you pay more.

“Great Iowa Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

We took a two day getaway to this hotel because kids wanted a water park adventure. We were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem in the middle of nowhere. Water park is somewhat small but has plenty to keep everyone busy even teenagers. Indoor water park is better suited to younger children. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Beds and linens were great. We really enjoyed our time here. We had beautiful lake views and enjoyed the bike/walking path that ran along side the lake. For a little getaway this place has a lot to offer.

“Nice hotel in the middle of nowhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Was pleansantly surprised by the the hotel, in terms of room cleanliness, customer service and food. I thought this place would be more dedicated to children and the experience of the waterpark but found it to be a very good business hotel as well. My only problem was a non-working remote, but had another one in the room and a telephone that seemed not to work on a consistent basis. The only other drawback is the lighting throughout the hotel and especially in the room...very very dim lighting...add in the cloudy and the cold and it was a bit depressing. Beautifull place on the lake though and bet it's really nice during the summer. You have to get the shrimp cocktail....the sauce was outstanding, just enough spice and fresh shrimp.

“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

Okay, I was here for only 14 hours, staying overnight on my way to Des Moines, but this hotel is great. The restauranty had tasty food, the room was clean, and the bed was comfy. Plus the view of the lake was peaceful and relaxing. I just wish I could have stayed longer!

“Expansive Hotel in Northwest Iowa”

Our Buena Vista U. reunion group booked a block of rooms at King's Pointe. Some of us had not been back to Storm Lake in 40+ years. What a splendid hotel on a lake much larger and more beautiful than any of us remembered. The service began with a huge smile and friendly greeting at the front desk and continued in whatever venue one found within the hotel complex. Because of the cooler temperatures, the outside water park had been closed but the inside park was in full swing. I was delighted with a choice of three significant water slides; the pool is huge and quite inviting. The rooms are well appointed and clean! No bedbugs here folks!
