This hotel was on the end of being in the Holiday Inn franchise. I understand because this was one of the older hotels in the chain and the new look that Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels are doing now, it was time for this hotel to change. Hopefully it can continue to be a decent hotel as a Clarion. The staff has always been one of the best, even though the hotel is old and tired.

Stayed for 4 days and found all staff to be extremely friendly and it was quite obvious Providing the best Customer Service possible was everyones goal. It would appear the Hotel is in process of total remodel. Most has been done but a few things still in the process. Could not have been happier!!

I've stayed at this hotel for the last five years to celebrate my great nephews birthday. It has always been a great hotel for this event. Only this year I noticed the place is in need of more than just a facelift.... More than just new carpet, furniture and window covering (which are for the most part in good shape).

Our room wasn't ready when wanting to check in but we were early. The front desk person went out of her way to personally get us in the room right at the check in time (3:00 p.m.). The hot tub needed water added so after asking for this someone came within minutes to take care of the problem.

There was a wedding reception at the hotel, so it was very noisy, but that is expected especially when staying in a poolside room. However, we woke at 3:00 a.m. due to water dripping on our bedding. I called the front desk with concern that maybe water from the bathroom above us was coming through the floor. Someone came to the room, saw where the water was coming from (like she already knew about the problem) and said it was the air conditioning water pan. She said she would put in a work order to have it fixed and brought us some extra towels. That was it..... When checking out I mentioned the problem to the front desk manager and received "I am sorry about that".... Our bedding was wet, including a cloth air mattress, which we brought because of needing an extra place for the kids. The ceiling where the water was dripping looked like it could fall in, and under the refrig. there was trim loose where nails were exposed. This is the first time in the five years that I stayed at this hotel that I felt things were in need of attention.

The staff was friendly and helpful, other than it didn't seem to matter that we had a problem while there. I'll probably not use this hotel again.

I stayed at this hotel during week nights for two months in 2008 and again for two months in 2010. The staff has really treated me like one of their family and they always asked how they could make my stay more enjoyable. I plan to return to this property again in 2012 for my next two-month job assignment in Mason City.
