The room looked very nice, decent layout, good amenities, but the overpowering smell of mold was awful. If I had any allergies I would have been carried out in a stretcher.

I only stayed for a couple of days - and the place was full - I think there were workers being put up by a local company to deal with a lock out situation, which made breakfast a bit of a challenge.
But there was a complimentary breakfast, which was more than adequate (yoghurt, cereal, and hot stuff if you wanted it like waffles and porridge and bacon.
A nice pool - pity no change room though -
the gym was small but perfectly formed and it's right next to a wal mart for those needed items. Overall, very pleasant and I would stay again
We spent two nights at this hotel in early March 2011. I believe we had four rooms book at the time. We were gathering for a memorial service for a deceased family member. The front desk was very helpful and caring. I believe the person at the front desk on the afternoon shift was named Jane or Jannie. She was very caring, and was especially considerate of the 82 year old mother of the deceased.
The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was wonderful, and the staff was very efficient. We would stay there again if ever in the area.
Room was impeccably clean. I did have a horrible allergy flare up, but that is pretty typical in any hotel room, it seems. The hotel is a block or so away from a factory that is spewing metalic caustic nasty fumes, no fault of the hotel's, and you can't get away from the corn refinery smell, no matter where you stay in Keokuk.
The hotel is walking distance to the Wal-Mart, Hawkeye, Pizza hut, and several other small businesses. Is farthest hotel in town from Navoo, but Keokuk isn't a terribly large town, it takes about 10 minutes to get to the river.
Breakfast was fresh. There was a surprising variety of healthy items to choose from. Front desk was friendly and opened up breakfast early for our group that had an early start time.
The hotel was packed, and there was some noise coming in from adjacent rooms and the hall, but I would say the sound level was more acceptable than the average hotel stay.
There was coffee in the room. No fridge or microwave. There was a desk situated near a power outlet. Internet speed was very good, I was able to stream video wirelessly fairly consistantly.
I have family in Keokuk and we stay often at hotels for convenience. We normally stay at Hampton Inn, but the hotel price was just too high this weekend, so we returned to Fairfield Inn. I always wish and hope the hotel is better than last time, but as usual it was a disappointment. The room smelled like mold and we had to crank up the A/C all weekend to try to clear it as best as possible. We know they changed out the mattresses around a year ago because relatives watched them throw them out the windows and passerbys pick them up, so the only positive thing about the hotel is the comfort of the bed. They had signs all over about how they were changing their breakfasts with quiches and all, and nothing new or different was on their layout. Oh well, back to Hampton we go, and that isn't saying much for that place either.....
