“felt like home”

Our extended family recently stayed at Garden and Galley bed and breakfast for a weekend get together. We were treated like family by Ester, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is situated on several acres with much of it being wooded. After a morning hike on trails behind the home, Ester had a gourmet breakfast ready for us. We weren't the only guests in the home, but we had 3 rooms and a living area to ourselves which was awesome.

“A great get away experience”

We just enjoyed a great experience at a bed and breakfast at the Garden and Galley. Our host Esther was attentive, friendly and hospitable without being intrusive. We stayed in the "garden suite" which was large and luxurious. Our breakfast was wonderful. THis was an overall completely enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the "garden suite."

“Unforgettable breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

My wife and I (both spanish, sorry about my poor English) taveled from Chicago to Minneapolis through Iowa (don't ask me, as most americans do, if we have parents there. We don't. We did it for fun, just to know this land). We liked, very different from the big USA cities we had known in last years. And in Indianola we met a wonderful lady, Esther, who prepared the most incredible breakfasts you can imagine. No words to describe them.
Yes, she has rooms as well, and a quiet and comfortable living room to spend your time after dinning, and a beatiful garden visited every evening by some deers (yes, deers), and a lovely dog and a big cat... but what breakfasts my friend!
Only one snag. Don't choose Simpson room unless you aretraveling alone (if you do, you will know why).

“Fantastic B&B within a few hours drive”

My husband and I decided to take a weekend trip near home and ended up visiting the Bridges of Madison County. And boy are we glad we decided to take that trip. The Garden & Galley is a jewel, and we had a wonderful stay. Esther was a perfect hostess - gracious and warm. The breakfast was lovely, and the atmosphere was laid back. The fall scenery was lovely - we were able to walk around the property and even pick apples! We had a fantastic time and wholly suggest the Garden & Galley to anyone from the KC area wanting to get away without going too far.
