“Very pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2009

We spent 2 nights at the AmericInn, Fayette, and were surprised how much we enjoyed the hotel. Our rooms were very comfortable and we also made good use of the common areas - we played games and watched Saturday afternoon College football in the breakfast area. There is also an inviting pool (sadly, didn't bring my bathers) and a big grassed area, perfect for running around with children.

“A nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2008

The AmericInn of Fayette reminds me completely of the AmericInn in Ladysmith, WI. They are so similar in layout and amenities I could swap one for the other.

AmericInns are homey, nice places to stay. The public rooms are warm and inviting, the people are very knowledgeable about the area and very friendly, and the sleeping rooms are basic.

The one thing I found annoying in my room was that the microwave was on the table that doubled as a desk. I had to unplug the microwave to plug in my laptop -- and the microwave took up a lot of the table.

Free highspeed internet access was acccessible the entire time I was there, even from my room.

The breakfast did leave a lot to be desired. I was hoping for orange juice that didn't taste like water. Maybe some fresh fruit. None of that.

But it was a nice place to stay for not a lot of money in an area where nice hotels--even just hotels--are few and far between.

  • Liked — Free wireless internet access. Proximity to my business.
  • Disliked — Breakfast and the lack of a clear desk to work on in my room.

Stayed two nights in March 2007 for a business trip.

Highlights of Hotel are:

- Nice Lodge like look with Fireplace in lobby.
- Rooms were very clean and quiet. They advertise brick foam filled walls between rooms.
- Free continental breakfast.
- Front desk people were very nice.
- Free local newspaper
- Lots of puzzles and books and games in the lobby
- Pool and whirlpool.
- Good size room.
- Wireless internet.

Negatives are:
- Breakfast not that great. OK but could use some fruit.
- No exercise equipment at all.
- Towel were way too small.
- No ironing board and iron in room. Available at front desk.
- Frequent stay program is not great. $40 after 10 nights. And you can't sign up online.
- Gift shop did not have much in it.
- Not enough light in the room. Could use a stand up light near chair for reading.
- No plugs right on desk for computers, etc.
