The Quiet Walker Lodge was the best idea we ever had! When we arrived, Carol came outside and greeted us. She showed us to our room. We stayed in Bella Vita. The refrigerator was stocked with a couple of sodas, some waters, some cheese, and a package of crackers. On top of the microwave, there was a tray with the crackers and two types of corkscrews, the type of thing you always forget to bring when you have a bottle of wine! We slept well the first night.
The next morning we were served a delicious quiche, croissants,. fresh fruit, bread, coffee, and juice. A well need start to the day. Carol's husband Mike quickly fixed our toliet which ran all night. It didn't bother us but we were dismayed to find that it kept the couple below us up. But Mike a Carol had it working again in no time!
We spent most of our morning talking to Linda about her greenhouse! It was wonderful to find a like minded person!
After spending the day in Dubuque and a nice supper in Galena, it was wonderful to have a place that felt like home to come back to!
Our second night was relaxing and peaceful as well. The next morning we were served french toast, ham, croissants, fresh fruit, bread, coffee, and juice.
We were so lucky to find a place to stay that was just what we were looking for. Close to Dubuque and Galena (about 10-15 from Dubuque and about 25-30 minutes from Galena) while still being in an area that was private and away from most traffic. We left knowing that we will be returning for any future romantic getaways!
