“Nice place. I was surprised.”

I had to stay here because every hotel in town was full. I was surprised. Owner was very nice and friendly. Clean and well-maintained rooms, even though the place is like 100 years old. Breakfast exceeded my expectations, and I was a big fan of the 24/7 cookie pile in the parlor. Next time I need to travel to the area, I'll probably call the Redstone before the Julian.

“Don't stay here!!!”

After traveling to many Bed and Breakfast locations over the years. I have never been in such horrible accomodations. The room and whole house was filthy. The bedroom we stayed in was awful the curtains were so water stained, tattered and moth bitten. I observed two moths flying in and out of them. The towels were frayed and old. The bedding was dated and stunk. Hoping the breakfast would redeem the hosts which never acknowledged us in our stay the female Host. Walked right by me and never said a word. There was what was supposed to be quiche. It was a watered down egg bake with no crust, cheese vegetables or meat. The cold boxed cereal did not appeal to me either. My next step is the Iowa board of health!!!

This message is to inform you and the public that many of the issues you raised have been corrected and addressed under new ownership/management from July 1st of this year. Specifically, we have implemented the followings:
1. we have totally replaced all pillows and mattress pads from the rooms.
2. We have replaced the housekeeper who was responsible for daily cleaning.
3. We have removed birds and dogs from the premises (no pets allowed).
4. We went through all linen closets and bed room linens-either replaced them or rewashed them.
Improving our service is our ongoing endeavor; we will work harder for our guests to regain the good name that has been associated with the Redstone Inn for the past 25 years in Dubuque.
Thank you for your bitter criticism.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2010

My husband and I stopped at The Redstone Inn on our way west across the country. We enjoyed a lovely stay. Everything was very clean and well taken care of and the owners were friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, just a brief walk from the river and from historic downtown. Staying at The Redstone Inn was like taking a step back in time in the best sense of that expression. The Inn was charming and full of history. My husband and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a personable and memorable place to stay while stopping in Dubuque.

“Great experience, highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2010

We stayed at the Redstone Inn last weekend, and had a great time. It is a very quiet place, in a very good location in the oldest section of Dubuque. It's within walking distance of a # of places. The room was clean, quiet and peaceful. The breakfasts were great. The hosts were very kind and hospitable. The place is dog friendly, which was a plus, as we brought a small dog. Very close to Galena.

“absolutely awesome--gorgeous!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2010

The Redstone Inn and Suites in Dubuque, Iowa is the most charming, elegant Bed and Breakfast I have ever visited. The woodwork, palor, dining room, and staircase are simply gorgeous--as is each individual room in this 3-story Victorian mansion. Owners Jerry and Kelly are wonderful, and their breakfast quiche delicious. It is the perfect , relaxing get-a-way for anyone in the mid-west! This was my second stay at the Redstone Inn, and I will definitely be back! It was very convenient to the Riverfront and Conference Center.
