“Not our first choice.......”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

We were in the area for one night and needed a place to stay. We also are trying to gain points for future travel so this hotel fit that qualification. Otherwise, we would not have stayed here and doubtful that we do again. (We had read the poor reviews.) The room was a non-smoking room but smelled of smoke and then my husband and daughter woke up in the night thinking someone was definately smoking in the room. If you have any allergies this would be a nightmare. The noise outside/inside was loud. Two positives were the points we earned through our credit card and the nice size beds.

“Great stay while travelling down I80”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

I almost didn't book here since some of the reviews on this site discouraged it. But I'm glad I came to this hotel. It was a great stop for my family as we drove from Colorado to Michigan on I80. Person at desk was nice and quick. Rooms were clean. We were supposed to get 2 rooms, each with 2 queen beds. One of the rooms actually had 2 kings. Beds were comfortable and we all slept well. Breakfast was ok and included hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, etc. My kids wished it had waffles, but other than that, was fine enough. It met our needs for a quick stop as we travel through.

“Lacking Quality in this Quality Inn.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

I thought being part of the larger chain that included Comfort Inn, this would be a good hotel with a nice room and good hot breakfast. It wasn't.

Check in guy was in a tee shirt and wearing some beads with a 'quality' shirt over it. He looked like he just came off the beach. He really was not front desk proper in his dress, speak or attitude.

I have no idea if there was an elevator, we couldn't find it. Barking dog in the next room didn't make the stay very peaceful. At least we weren't on the freeway side of the building, that would have been even worse. Room overlooked a roof and construction dumpster. Shower drain was full of hair, we couldn’t hang clothes as the rail frame was pulled away from the wall.

Breakfast was cold except for the gravy for the biscuits. It was limited on the selection. There were no meats, they did have cold hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and 2 types cold cereal. The hot water for tea was a safety hazard as it was so high you could not see the water level in the cup. The garbage in the breakfast area was full and getting fuller. Maybe they don’t serve full breakfasts for those staying on weekends.

On the plus side, it is easy on and off from the highway.

“Congrat's, This hotel DID NOT pass! (sarcasm) :)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2010

I arrived on Thursday night the 8th of April, got to the front desk, the kid working didn't seem too interested to help me, didn't check any ID, didn't take my license plate number, didn't do any sort of security check, for all he know's I could have been an escaped prisoner about to take that hotel down, but he wouldn't have known that because he didn't do any sort of ID checking. Got to my room, the toilet had been used probably by the maid i'm assuming, and had not been flushed. The tub had toilet paper in it, and when I turned on the water it was barely warm, so I let it run for a while thinking it would get warmer, but it did not. The desk where i sat my computer was swarming with ant's, that I had to wipe down with a stinky wash cloth about a million time's. That's another thing, the towels, was cloth's, and sheet's all smelled very bad. There was a security code on my key packet to get in the door, but the door's were not even locked to get in the building, so that obviously was useless. My thermostat broke in the middle of the night, so I was sweating bullets. My bed was horribly hard beyond belief, and the pillow's felt like they were lumpy and probably bought about 20 some years ago. The walls were VERY thin, so you could hear everything the people next door were doing. The breakfast wasn't bad, I didn't expect anything more or less from it. I was very disappointed that there was no hot tub, but the pool seemed nice even though I did not use it. High speed internet was great beyond belief, so I was able to get my school work and some business work done! I ended up having to stay another night because I came down with a sinus infection after sleeping in that room and my thermostat breaking, thus making it hard for me to comprehend and drive the next day to my next destination, so I just told them I'd take another night and got some rest in during that day, which was of course was not any better than the first night. When I went to check out I told the girl at the desk about the ant problem, which she seemed to not care about, and also seemed like she's probably heard about it before. Overall, yes there were a lot of complaint's about my room and some about the facility, but if they were to work on those thing's that I have mentioned then I might concider going back because they actually weren't too badly priced.

“Not Recommended”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

In a nutshell, you can find a better hotel for the same money.

The towels smelled bad and made me want to reshower and drip dry.
The bathroom was dirty - the vent had about 1.5 inches of dust on it.
The water for bath/shower was luke warm.
In the morning, there were ants swarming the snacks that I brought along.
The room smelled slightly of smoke even thought it was non smoking.
The back outside door near our room had no security. Anyone from the road could just walk into the hotel- you did not need a key.
The dial on the AC/Fan/Heat unit were broken so you had to guess which setting it was on.
The walls might be thinner than cardboard.
We returned at 3 pm and housekeeping still had not been to the room for the day.
At one time, there was an outdoor pool - now there is a dirt filled hole that is a weed trip.
In similar fashion, there is no longer a hot tub - filled in and covered.
The abandoned / half torn down resturaunt in the front should have been a clue.

Anytime I throw out the negative in life, I try to search for the positive as well so here are the few:
- fitness center seemed decent
- location was ideal since it was near the interstate
- wireless internet was speedy and worked well

Overall, if management did a MAJOR deep cleaning to the place, washed their towels and bedding (it can even be cheap detergent - just use it and wash them), and fixed the security issue, they would be in somewhat decent shape.
