Check-in was quick and staff made me feel welcome. Room was spacious (one king bed) and clean. Bathroom was ok; unfortunately there was hair in the bath tub, but running the shower took care of that. Breakfast was alright, with the regular fare. The indoor pool was big and maintained well. No problems at check-out; staff promptly removed the safe fee (which is only done on guest's request). Location excellent for downtown business, which was the purpose of my stay.

First off, the front desk staff were not very friendly, and were not professional in appearance. Once I got into my room, I realized that this is like many other Choice hotels I've stayed in recently...it is a nice place with lots of potential, but is very poorly managed. The elevators are tiny and dirty as are the hallway carpets. The chair in my room has cigarette burns even though it is a non-smoking room. The carpet in my room is also exceptionally dirty and doesn't appear to have been vacuumed at all recently. Most of the tabletops in the room had visible dirt and smears. The ice bucket was dirty and contained no liner. The sink and shower had hair in them. Even the windows were below par as the curtains don't close all the way, there is always a 4" gap between them. I turned down a room at the Holiday Inn near here for $10 more with the hopes of saving a few dollars, but learned that was a rather poor Choice...just like the last several Choice hotels I've been in were.

The Quality Inn was handy to the interstate and to The Royal Mile. Our room had a nice view of the capitol. Included breakfast featured genuine scrambled eggs, not the frozen and reheated ones offered by Comfort Inn. Our carpet was a bit stained and with only two elevators you can have a long wait. They get extra points from me for having the sink in the bathroom instead of the room and for having a fitted bottom sheet.

My boyfriend and I stayed here while attending a wedding last weekend, and we were really happy with our choice. The price was great for the location. It was super convenient (we were close enough to walk to wedding events downtown), and parking was free. The bed was cozy, and the room was clean (with the exception of a gross-looking footstool) and comfortable. I'd stay here again.
