The rooms were decent in size and the price was a good deal for the room, i thought. The carpet was a little dirty but tolerable when staying only a few nights...BIG complaint was the service in the hotel bar. There were a group of salesman from out of town who were HEAVILY intoxicated at the bar, and were never cut off by the bartender. They were making inappropriate passes at young girls while playing pool and nothing was said to them-horrifying! I witnessed their drunk entourage more than one night and there was an endless limit to their alcohol consumption by the bartender..this is dangerous to them and the other guests!!!

I spent days searching the web for nice, yet inexpensive hotels to stay in Des Moines for the 4th of July. We chose this hotel due to the outdoor pool and other positive ratings/reviews. We were awfully disappointed to see that the pool was tiny and dirty and our room was even worse. The room was damp and smelled of mildew. The carpet sort of kissed the bottoms of our bare feet, because it was also damp and sticky. We've gone on many trips over the last few years and this is one of the worst hotel experiences we've encountered. I'd even recommend the Motel 6 across the street, because at least you'd probably get a clean room.

If you are looking to save money but stay somewhere clean and safe, this would be the place. From the outside and the hallway it does have that motel feel, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. I'm a picky person and I would stay here again.
