Stayed here for two nights recently. Great big room with a fireplace! Very quiet, though the hotel did not seem to have a lot of quests the nights I stayed. The bathroom was beautiful with twin sinks in a long vanity with plenty of space. I would have enjoyed a shaving/magnifying mirror. I believe the rooms are different sizes, so don't know if there are all as spacious as the room I was in. Did not have time to try the spa or bar, but looked very nice.

A group of friends went to DesMoines to see Wicked and stayed for the first time at Suites of 800. It was elegant when we walked in, we were greeted in a very friendly and open way. When we got to our rooms,, they were spacious and clean. The bar off the lobby was intimate and the service was great. Breakfast the next morning(included in room price) was delicious!
All of us agreed we would definitely stay there the next time we are in DesMoines.

If you have to go there, stay here. Like a different place than the rest of DSM. Rooms, decore, amenities, GYM, all superb...yes, Des Moines, IA. Bar is excellent---bar maid memorable.

We spent a weekend in August at the Suites of 800 Locust and it was very nice. We had not stayed there before and we were impressed. The rooms were very large and bathrooms were much bigger than some other downtown hotels. They have a nice breakfast in the morning and we had a few drinks in the lounge also. The lounge was very nice in the evening and romantic. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
We had to drive ourself to the Iowa Cubs game as they don't have a shuttle but that was not a problem. We also visited the court avenue district during the weekend and really enjoyed the Royal Mile pub. It was busy but the place is not very large so it was not too noisy. We enjoyed that spot the most out of all the other pubs we visited.

Don't count on using the internet, super slow & sometimes non existent. Nothing worse when your planning on doing work. Breakfast was poor, beds were pretty comfy, but no window looking outside...not good.
