I spent a few nights at the Davenport, IA Fairfield Inn recently and found the hotel to be conveniently located and very friendly.
The Fairfield Inn is an older "original" style Fairfield, not the newer "Inn and Suites" concept. The rooms are pretty standard, but no complaints either. With the different levels of Marriott property you generally know what you are getting before you arrive, and this Fairfield is no exception. There are, however, a few tattered edges to this property and it is likely due for some renovation in the not too distant future for things such as beds that are somewhat used and mushy, carpets that are looking older and so on.
The memorable feature of this hotel is the staff, the folks I had contact with were uniformly friendly and demonstrated a desire to make the guest's stay as comfortable as possible. It is one of the best staff interactions that I've had at a Fairfield Inn, and I stay pretty frequently at the various Marriott brands as I'm an elite member of their frequent stay program.
At busy times, the wireless internet speed was a bit slow and you could tell it was being heavily used. At other times (later in the evening) it was much more usable.
The breakfast was standard and the breakfast room was never crowded and was always well stocked and the coffee fresh and hot.
The hotel is a bit hard to find, drove right by the entrance the first time as I didn't see the small sign indicating to take a driveway next to a car dealer and around behind the new car lot. Once I figured that out, it was no issue.
There are many restaurants within a mile to mile and a half radius and the Interstate is only a couple of blocks away for easy access to other parts of the Quad Cities.
The bottom line is that I would stay here again anytime I return to this area.
