“The WORST!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Stayed here for one night while traveling for Thanksgiving weekend. Yes, I had my small doggy with me. However, the "pet friendly" room they put us in was terrible. Where do I start? Room was located in the hinterlands of the hotel, next to a noisy smelly truck plaza and casino parking lot. Outside security door was NOT secure. Door to hotel room (1st one off the parking lot) also had a broken lock. Carpet in room showed stains of countless dogs before. Even the bedskirt had stains where some previous dog had lifted its leg. In the bathroom, there was a parade of ants so bad, you didn't dare take the time to stand in there long enough to wash your face/brush your teeth. I used a blanket I'd brought with me and laid that over the bed so me and my dog had someplace clean to sleep. Wasn't going to chance catching bed bugs on top of everything else. When I complained, they hotel DID comp my stay. But seem unconcerned and called this a "maintenance" issue. C'mon?? I dare the staff to spend a night in their own crappy hotel room.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel. Preferably NOT in Council Bluffs.

“One To Be Avoided”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

The Hotel was being remodeled but that seemed only window-dressing. The issues here were with a uncaring front desk clerk that failed first off to acknowledge me as a Platinum Club Member and the customary goodies at check in were not offered. Small point perhaps but with all the nights I have lodged at hotels it is important. The coffee service in the room featured ONLY Decaf Coffee which wasn't what I ever drink. The wireless internet in the room is fraught with problems and usually displays only 1 bar and constantly looses connectivity. I was told the data ports in the room were not functional. Much like the spa which wasn't available either. Did I mention the room didn't have an ash tray? well, I did reserve a smoking room so I had to go to the front desk and wait for them to find one. I was told after I confirmed the room that pets were allowed and the hotel was 'pet friendly'. Apparently that isn't entirely true because only CERTAIN rooms are pet friendly and I was sternly warned by the uncaring front desk clerk there was a $275.00 if you were caught with one in non designated pet friendly room. All in all the hotel was one challenge after another and I'd advise just going elsewhere this hotel isn't worth what is being charged

“clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We used a coupon for this Best Western that we got on the interstate at a rest stop. They honored the coupon for $59.00. It is wonderful. The room is very clean; no stains on the carpet or chairs. The beds are comfy and each of the queen beds have 4 pillows. The towels are fluffy and soft; It is definatly a place I would come back to. The free internet connection is good. The lobby and breakfasroom are very large and clean; the indoor pool area is nice; has tables and the pool is large and looks inviting. The TV is about 25" and is not a flat screen, but it does have cable.

“Just enough of what we were looking for...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We stayed at this hotel because it met all the things we were looking for. We wanted a place that provided breakfast, accepted large dogs and had a pool and hot tub. The Best Western fit the bill.
We took advantage of the FREE shuttle service to and from the airport. Everyone we encountered provided wonderful customer service... although seemed a bit confused at times, since we had such a large group.
You can tell they are making updates to the hotel, but there is still room for improvement. The hot tub was kind of icky... although we still went in it...Some of the rooms were updated with flat screen tv's but still had a mildew smell also, a fan in the bathroom would have been nice to cut down on the foggy mirrors.
If you can get past the small stuff and score a good price for the room, I would reccomend staying here. However, if the price is even close to $100/night I would stay else where.

“simply - don't go here! terrible attitude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

worst Best Western! - rude - first - it was under construction- once I got the key - the carpets guys were sweeping -dust everywhere- the door wouldn't open due to a metal strip from the carpet holding the door shut- this place is awful-now the best part- my wife called B/W. the owner said: ' is she calling head office' I said yes' he said now get out - you can't stay here?!
A joke - dirty , poorly run -mismanaged , - asked us to leave because we drew this mess to the attention of head office- further we are part of Harley Davidson-rewards prgm. they claimed they do not reward riders- again false- I was mortified- being tossed out of this Best Western - had to drive another 150 miles East to the next Best Western - this Counsil Bluffs should not be part of the Best Western Company - this one is simply:despicable- they have no idea of how to welcome people- GET OUT OF THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS!
